Jim Carrey
Legendary actor Jim Carrey is all geared up for his return into the limelight with a new Showtime show, but not in the same way. The 56-year-old actor, who took some time away from the acting world in recent years, is all set to make his way back to the spotlight with his new HBO show 'Kidding', which will premiere at the end of August.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Carrey revealed as to why he had earlier opted to leave Hollywood, saying, "I just didn't want to be in the business anymore."
"I didn't like what was happening, the corporations taking over and all that. And maybe it's because I felt pulled toward a different type of creative outlet and I really liked the control of painting, of not having a committee in the way telling me what the idea must be to appeal to a four-quadrant whatever," he added.
Though Carrey is now all set for his Hollywood return, he explained that he would not be back in the same way. "I'm not back in the same way. I don't feel I'm little Jim trying to hang on to a place in the stratosphere anymore ' I don't feel like I'm trying to hold on to anything,' he added. Since 2016, Carrey has been developing his skills as a political cartoonist and amusing his almost 18 million followers on Twitter with devastating sketches.
