Modern Family received the outstanding comedy series trophy at the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards

Los Angeles: -Modern Family- received the outstanding comedy series trophy at the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards here.

The show is presented in a mockumentary style with fictional characters talking directly into the camera.
-Modern Family- also had more wins at the awards ceremony hosted by Seth Meyers Monday night.
Earlier in the evening, Ty Burrell was given the trophy for the outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series for his portrayal as Phil Dunphy in a popular show, whose director Gail Mancuso bagged the outstanding director trophy for the series.
The outstanding supporting actress in the comedy series was handed over to Allison Janney for -Mom-.
Jim Parsons, popular as Sheldon Cooper on -The Big Bang Theory-, went home with the outstanding lead actor trophy in the series for the Sitcom, while the outstanding lead actress in the comedy series was bagged by -Veep- star Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who was also one of the presenters of the function.
The outstanding writing for the comedy series title went to Louis C.K for -So Did The Fat Lady-.
Jimmy Fallon, the host of -Saturday Night Live-, won the outstanding guest actor in the comedy series, and the outstanding guest actress in the comedy series went to Uzo Aduba, who plays Suzanne -Crazy Eyes- Warren, in -Orange Is The New Black-.
