Die Hard
It has been three decades that Bruce Willis' John McClane screamed Die Hard in John McTiernan's seminal 1988 action blockbuster. The makers gave a fitting tribute to the film when they marked the occasion with an outdoor screening at the famed Nakatomi Tower, Los Angeles.
The event saw hundreds gathered on the roof of an adjacent parking garage at dusk as the structure served as a glorious backdrop to experience Die Hard once more. The film franchise that originated with Roderick Thorp's novel, Nothing Lasts Forever, revolves around McClane, a New York City and Los Angeles police detective who continually finds himself in the middle of difficult situations and is the only beacon of hope in crisis.
With five films in the series, the first one also starred Alan Rickman, Bonnie Bedelia, Alexander Godunov and Reginald Vel Johnson. Bedelia was present for the screening.
