American singer songwriter Bob Dylan has won the 2016 Nobel Prize for literature. Here are few fun facts about the artist influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades

'Mr Tambourine Man,' one of Bob Dylan's famous numbers, was a literary character created by the musician after a drummer he knew from the clubs of New York's Greenwich Village.
In 2004, Dylan earned an honorary doctorate in music from the University of St. Andrews
Bob Dylan stayed out of the public eye after a motorcycle accident in July 1966. Few details about injury suffered during the crash were revealed, his biographers have written that the crash offered Dylan the chance to escape the pressures around him.
