Alexander Skarsgard is now a Golden Globe award winning artist. The -Big Little Lies- actor won Best Supporting Actor in a TV or Limited Series- at the 2018 Golden Globes and like a good co-star, he thanked his senior Nicole Kidman in his acceptance speech. Skarsgard said that most of his scenes were with his red-headed co-star and executive producer and noted that sharing screen space with her was -the best experience of his career.-
He began by saying, -I am here tonight because I had a privilege of working with a group of extraordinarily talented women. Most of them are in this room tonight." He further continued, -Our extraordinary cast, we-re all here. Especially Nicole. Hi. Not that you-re, like, more talented than the other girls. Especially Nicole. You guys are amazing. Nicole, I love you. Thank you for making this the greatest experience of my career.-
Kidman did not disappoint him and kept on blowing kisses back to her on-screen love interest, while he was sharing his acceptance speech. The actor beat out David Harbour from -Stranger Things-, Alfred Molina from -Feud: Bette and Joan-, Christian Slater from -Mr. Robot- and David Thewlis from -Fargo- to clinch the trophy. Meanwhile, his co-star Laura Dern continued her golden run in the industry as the actress won her fourth Golden Globe, this time for -best supporting actress in a TV series- for her role in -Big Little Lies-.
Dern started her speech by thanking director Jean-Marc Vallée and her fellow -Big Little Lies- cast members, whom she calls her -new family.- But she quickly switched tone to discuss more of her role as a -complicated woman and terrified mother -- terrified because her little girl was abused and bullied and she was too afraid to speak up-.
-Many of us were taught not to tattle. It was a culture of silencing that was normalized. I urge all of us to not only support survivors and bystanders who are brave enough to tell their truth, but promote restorative justice. May we also please protect and employ them. May we teach our children that speaking out without the feat of retribution is our culture-s new North Star,- noted Dern.
The veteran concluded her speech with the following message of gratitude to her co-stars, colleagues and loved ones -Bless you. Bless everyone who worked on this. All the people who support me and my beautiful children. Thank you for all your work and love.-
