Has anything changed about the brazen star since she first rose to fame? The answer would be simple - Six kids and her music. Trust Madonna to still have it in her to add sex in sexagenarian. As the global icon turns 60, mid-day connects with top Indian musicians - those responsible for the creation of the celebrated pop culture in India - to describe their love for the Material Girl.

She is a true pop star. I remember, I created an album titled Main Bhi Madonna (1993), which was a hit, thanks to her. I even dressed like her in one song. [Several factors] made her the pop star [that she is]. This included the simplicity of her music, her looks, sex appeal and costumes. She was an inspiration for every Indian pop star. For us, a true star implied someone like her or Michael Jackson.

Anaida Parvaneh
She is a fabulous manager of her talent. She was gutsy; one who played by her rules and created the music that she wanted to. I enjoyed the songs she made for Dick Tracy (1990). They were Broadway style numbers, which had good music, coupled with good singing. She is an all-rounder, one who gave importance to visuals too. None of her videos are ordinary. She would constantly reinvent herself.

I'm a diehard fan of Madonna. She isn't merely another icon, she is among the biggest influencers of the music industry in the '90s. She is non apologetic about anything she says or does. La Isla Bonita, Material Girl, Like A Virgin and Papa Don't Preach are a few of my favourite numbers that she created. I never met her, but I can feel her vibe. She is way too young for her 60 years!
