Pop star Lady Gaga says Amy Winehouse's death is a lesson for the public not to "kill the superstar".
"It's really devastating, and I think it's a lesson to the world - don't kill the superstar. Take care of her. Take care of her soul," contactmusic.com quoted Gaga as saying.
Winehouse, who died in London July 23, was cremated Tuesday.
Gaga also revealed she was often mistaken for the late singer due to her black hair and beehive style.
"I was nobody when she was first coming out. I had really dark hair and all the time on the street people would go, 'Amy!' And they would go, 'Back to Black'. They'd scream at me," she said.
"I loved her and I just remember feeling like I wasn't alone because she was so different and she was so special," she added.
Gaga also paid tribute to the singer on Twitter, writing she "changed pop music forever".
