Aishwarya Rai Bachchan talks of 16th year at Cannes, and playing dress up for Aaradhya

Sixteen years into Cannes, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan knows more than a thing or two about the annual film festival, "It's sweet 16 for me [this time] but what makes it sweeter is the fact that the festival is celebrating its 70th anniversary so it's a big milestone." she says.

Recalling her first appearance at the French Riviera in 2002 with 'Devdas', the actress says that the memories of it will always be etched in her mind, "The reception we got was outstanding."

The former Miss World says she isn't bothered by the fashion police as she feels criticism and praise are a part of her routine. "Every time I make an appearance, I am being judged. I am a normal human being and obviously if it gets nasty, I am going to react. But I have always joked that I go with the flow and the audience can enjoy the show," she explains.

Interestingly, Aaradhya has been watching her mother and has now learnt how to pose for shutterbugs.

The actress says that her daughter has a normal upbringing. "I was joking with her teacher before we left for Cannes that I am going over the weekend to play fancy dress for Aaradhya."
