According to Variety, Charles Roven has revealed that they were looking for an actor who had a certain age and a certain gravitas to what he had done in terms of his recent work and the 41-year-old American actor fits the bill as he is a "big and mature man", Metro.co.uk reported.
He explained that that it was their intention as Affleck's Batman looks like a sage, battle-weary hero in comparison to Henry Cavill's Batman, which they wanted particularly juxtaposed against their Superman character.
âSuperman vs Batman' will be a sequel to Zack Snyder's âMan of Steel', on which Roven had served as a producer, and is set to open in cinemas on July 17, 2015.
