Here we bring you images from a time when our favourite B-town stars had not achieved stardom and looked unrecognisable from their current avatars. We take a look at some throwback photos of Bollywood actors!

That's one of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's earliest days in his career, as seen in the picture - his 1st play. Juuhi Babbar shared this memory on Instagram and wrote, "I directed Sushant in 2 plays. In 2007 he acted in his first play, #PUKAAR & the other was a comedy, Dauda Dauda Bhaaga Bhaaga Sa. In fact, he was spotted by a Balaji casting person while he was handling the tickets at the box office counter for one of the plays. TV aur filmstar banney ke baad bhi apne theatre ke dino ke doston se juda raha. Aur mere toh ek call par hamesha, behad busy hone ke baavajood, #Ekjutetheatregroup ke shows aur events par pohoch jaata tha. He used to call me Didi and used to day "Didi u were my first director". We will miss u #Sushant

That's Sara Ali Khan! Barring a few loyal fans and ardent followers, not many people know how Sara Ali Khan looked like before entering Bollywood. Sara struggled with her weight before entering Bollywood and worked really hard to shed the extra kilos. Well, her transformation from flab to fab is truly inspiring, isn't it?

Did you know Katrina Kaif featured in a Fevicol advertisement? Yes, the actress endorsed Fevicol long before Kareena Kapoor Khan did it in the 'Fevicol Se' song from 'Dabangg 2'. Actor Virendra Saxena featured in the ad along with Katrina Kaif. The actress did this commercial even before she entered Bollywood.

That's Taapsee Pannu during her school days. She posted this throwback picture and wrote in the caption, "Ok so this one is another MAJORRRR throwback which makes me partly proud n partly embarrassed. Since the time I knew what being a prefect in school is I had dreamt to be the Head Girl of my school and this was the day that dream came true. One of those rare things in life I planned and it actually happened (considering all my other plans for life have failed but probably for good) standing there taking oath I am probably just lost in thought of how when u wish for something so bad it can actually come true n that's y probably I am (embarrassingly) not looking ahead! Which I should! Considering the Head boy is more interested to look into my camera, I don't think I should be the only one embarrassed of this picture"

Hrithik Roshan (right) with South superstar Rajinikanth in Bhagwan Dada. He was a child artist in the film produced by his father Rakesh Roshan. Hrithik became an overnight sensation after his debut film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai (2000) in which he starred opposite Ameesha Patel became popular with fans and critics. He followed that up with successful outings like Mission Kashmir, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Koi... Mil Gaya (the first film in the popular Krrish series), Dhoom 2, Jodhaa Akbar, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Agneepath, Bang Bang! among others. He was last seen in the hit films Super 30 and War.

Rani made her Bollywood debut in 1997 with Raja Ki Aayegi Baarat but her breakthrough role was opposite Aamir Khan in 1998 with Ghulam. She worked in several successful films post that including Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Hey Ram, Saathiya, Yuva, Hum Tum, Veer-Zaara, Saawariya, No One Killed Jessica, Talaash: The Answer Lies Within, Mardaani and many others. She was seen in Hichki, which saw her portray a character with Tourette's Syndrome. The film was a critical and commercial success. She's married to filmmaker Aditya Chopra and they have a daughter Adira. Rani's latest release was Mardaani 2 in which she reprised the role of SP Shivani Shivaji Roy.

Imran Khan during his cameo appearance in the film Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. He played a younger version of the character his uncle Aamir Khan was portraying in the film. Imran made his debut as a leading man opposite Genelia D'Souza with the 2008 film Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, which was a critical and commercial success earning him a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He starred in commercially successful films like I Hate Luv Storys, Delhi Belly and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. He was last seen on the big screen opposite Kangana Ranaut in Katti Batti.

Kunal made his debut as a child artist with Sir in 1993 and has worked in popular films Raja Hindustani, Zakhm, Bhai, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, and Dushman. He made his debut as a leading man with the 2005 film Kalyug, following that with notable ventures like Traffic Signal, Superstar, Dhol, Blood Money, Golmaal 3, Go Goa Gone and the Golmaal series.

That's Jackie Shroff with his mother. Debuting in 1983 opposite Meenakshi Seshadhri with Hero, Jackie would carve a niche for himself as a leading man of the 1980s and the 1990s. He starred in several successful films like Andar Baahar, Yudh, Karma, Parinda, Tridev, 100 Days, Saudagar, King Uncle, Khalnayak, Gardish, 1942: A Love Story, Rangeela, Vishwavidhaata, Border, Refugee, Shootout At Wadala among many others. He was last seen in Sarkar 3 and was a part of the films Saaho, Firrkie, and Thugs of Hindostan. His son Tiger Shroff is a successful actor with his latest film Baaghi 3, which did decent business at the box office.

Neetu Singh with her children - Ranbir Kapoor (L), who is now one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood currently and Riddhima Kapoor (R), who is now a fashion designer by profession. Ranbir Kapoor made his Bollywood debut with Saawariya and went on to star in films such as Bachna Ae Haseeno, Wake Up Sid, Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahaani, Rocket Singh: Salesman Of The Year, Raajneeti, Anjaana Anjaani, Rockstar, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Barfi, Tamasha, Jagga Jasoos. He will be next seen in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra alongside girlfriend Alia Bhatt.

Jugal Hansraj (left) and Urmila Matondkar (right) in Masoom. Interestingly, Jugal and Urmila would later star in the 1994 film Aa Gale Lag Jaa, which marked Hansraj's debut as an adult actor. Although he failed to make an impact on-screen, Hansraj notably starred in successful films like Mohabbatein and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. He turned filmmaker with Roadside Romeo in 2008 and even directed the 2010 film Pyaar Impossible! starring Priyanka Chopra and Uday Chopra. Urmila would later garner fame as the Rangeela girl with Ram Gopal Varma's 1995 film, which also starred Aamir Khan and Jackie Shroff. Other commendable mentions from her filmography include Indian, Judaai, Satya, Bhoot, Ek Hasina Thi, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya among others.

Salman Khan with his siblings - Arbaaz Khan, Alvira Khan and Sohail Khan. The son of legendary scriptwriter Salim Khan, Salman debuted in 1988 with Biwi Ho Toh Aisi and became a breakout star in 1989 with Maine Pyaar Kiya. What followed was a legendary film career and an exalted status as one of the three successful Khans in Bollywood. The actor is known for an extensive filmography featuring commercially successful ventures including Baaghi: A Rebel for Love, Patthar Ke Phool, Saajan, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Karan Arjun, Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Tere Naam, Garv, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Wanted, Dabangg, Ready, Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai, Race 3, Bharat, and Dabangg 3.

Shashi Kapoor as a boy in a still from Awara. The youngest son of the legendary Prithviraj Kapoor and brother of Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor made a name for himself with an extensive filmography boasting of commercial hits, parallel cinema and even international ventures. Notable mentions from his filmography include Pyar Kiye Jaa, Siddhartha, Roti Kapda Aur Makaan, Deewaar, Kabhi Kabhie, Heeralal Pannalal, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Junoon, Shakespearewallah, Kalyug, The Deceivers and others. He is known to have established the Prithvi Theatre, a haven for theatre actors in Mumbai. He passed away in 2017.

This is none other than today's superstar Shah Rukh Khan. SRK's rise to prominence in Bollywood is the stuff of legends. After a stint in television with shows like Fauji and Dil Dariya Mein, King Khan debuted on the big screen with Deewana. What followed was a stellar career with the actor delivering hits such as Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Baazigar, Darr, Karan Arjun, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Pardes, Dil To Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Mohabbatein, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Devdas, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Main Hoon Na, Veer-Zaara, Swades, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, The Don films, Om Shanti Om, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, My Name Is Khan, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Chennai Express, Dilwale, Raees and Zero.

Arjun Kapoor with his producer-father Boney Kapoor, mother Mona Kapoor and sister Anshula Kapoor. Arjun made his Bollywood debut with Ishaqzaade. He went on to star in films such as 2 States, Aurangzeb, Gunday, Finding Fanny, Tevar, Ki & Ka, Half Girlfriend, Mubarakan and Namastey England. His last release was Ashutosh Gowariker's period drama, Panipat.

Little Sanjay Dutt with mother Nargis and sister Priya Dutt. Dutt, the son of legendary actor Sunil Dutt made his acting debut as a child in his father's film Reshma Aur Shera before debuting as the male lead opposite Tina Ambani with the 1981 film Rocky. He went on to star in several noteworthy films in the next three decades including Vidhaata, Saajan, Sadak, Gumrah, Khalnayak, Vaastav: The Reality, Mission Kashmir, Kaante, Munnabhai MBBS, Shootout At Lokhandwala, PK among many others. Dutt made his comeback with Bhoomi after his incarceration in connection with the 1993 Mumbai blasts.

Deepika Padukone with her famous dad, badminton legend Prakash Padukone. Deepika made her Bollywood debut in 2007 opposite Shah Rukh Khan with Om Shaanti Om. She has worked in several successful films since then including Love Aaj Kal, Housefull series, Cocktail, Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Finding Fanny, Tamasha, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat. Deepika is married to actor Ranveer Singh.

Aftab Shivdasani in Chaalbaaz, which featured the late great Sridevi in a dual role. He first debuted as a child artist in the successful Mr. India and went on to make his debut as a lead actor in Mast (1999). Aftab's notable performances include Kasoor, Love Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karega, Awara Paagal Deewana, Darna Mana Hai, The Masti films, Kya Kool Hai Hum 3 among others.

That's National Award-winning actress Tabu as a teenager in Hum Naujawan. The 1985 Dev Anand directorial opened the doors for her for what many would consider an excellent filmi journey, which led to her starring in several critically and commercially successful films such as Vijaypath, Kadhal Desam, Tu Chor Main Sipahi, Maachis, Virasat, Border, Hu Tu Tu, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Hera Pheri, Kandukondain Kandukondain, Astitva, Chandni Bar, Maqbool, Cheeni Kum, Haider, Fitoor and many others. She won the National Film Award for Best Actress twice, has received six Filmfare Awards and was conferred with the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2011. Tabu last starred in Jawaani Jaaneman alongside Saif Ali Khan and newcomer Alaya F.

Aamir Khan as a child in Yaadon Ki Baraat. Following his acting debut alongside future filmmaker and collaborator Ashutosh Gowariker in the 1984 Holi, Khan cemented his status as a bankable Bollywood star with hits like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Dil, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Baazi, Rangeela, Raja Hindustani, Ghulam, Sarfarosh, Lagaan, Dil Chahta Hai, Mangal Pandey: The Rising, Rang De Basanti, Taare Zameen Par, Ghajini, 3 Idiots, Talaash: The Answer Lies Within, PK, Dangal, and Secret Superstar. Several of his releases have broken box-office records while still being appreciated by critics. He was last seen in Thugs of Hindostan, which also starred Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif.

He went on to deliver box-office hits in the 1970s, garnering the image of Bollywood's Angry Young Man, which included Zanjeer, Deewar, Sholay, Amar Akbar Anthony, Don and many others. After a brief hiatus in the early 80s, he made a comeback in 1987 with Shahenshah and entered the 90s with successful outings like Hum, Akayla, Khuda Gawah and many more. He transitioned into an elderly role in Mohabbatein and went on to be a part of fine ventures like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham..., Baghban, Waqt: The Race Against Time, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Cheeni Kum, The Sarkar trilogy and other films.

An undated image of a young Kishore Kumar. The youngest of four siblings, Kishore's older brother Ashok Kumar has had a legendary film career. His brother Anoop was in films too. They popularly starred together in Chalti Ka Naam Gadi, which also starred his future wife Madhubala. Kishore Kumar, considered one of the most successful playback singers in the Hindi film industry, has crooned several popular tracks over the years. His notable starring roles are in the films Ladki, Naukari, Baap Re Baap, Paisa Hi Paisa, New Delhi among many others. He passed away in 1987.

His notable screen credits include Ram Lakhan, Lamhe, Khel, Darr, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Dil, Daddy, Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara, and Vijay, among many others. He has also appeared in international projects like Bend It Like Beckham, Lust, Cation, Silver Linings Playbook among others. Anupam Kher has been awarded the Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri and was seen prominently stepping into the shoes of former PM Manmohan Singh in The Accidental Prime Minister.
