Yearender 2022: From SRK- Taapsee to Ayushmann-Ananya, fresh on-screen pairs to look forward to in 2023

Bollywood films are known for several things: their storylines, song-and-dance sequences and of course, the on-screen pairings of actors, which sometimes even define entire decades of cinema. Be it Raj Kapoor and Nargis, who were iconic throughout the 50s or SRK and Kajol, whose chemistry dominated the 90s, the lead pair of the films have always been one of the major USPs of films at the Indian box office. The upcoming year has a number of films lined up which would have on-screen pairings never seen before. Let us take a look at some of them.

Fresh onscreen pairs of 2023

Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor

Director Luv Ranjan's upcoming rom-com 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar' will bring together actors Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor on-screen for the first time. Ranjan recently revealed the duo's first look via the film's poster on social media

Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi

Ever since the announcement, this pairing of Katrina and Vijay Sethupathi has created quite the buzz. Not only are the two actors from different film industries but also belong to different schools of acting. They will be seen together in the film directed by Sriram Raghavan. 'Merry Christmas' was scheduled to be released on Christmas this year, however, it has been postponed to next year

Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu

The 'King Khan' of Bollywood, who has been featured with a number of actresses over his 3-decade-long career, will grace the silver screen with 'Thappad' actor Taapsee Pannu for the first time in Rajkumar Hirani's drama film 'Dunki', which is set to release by the end of 2023

Vicky Kaushal - Sara Ali Khan

The 'Govinda Naam Mera' actor and 'Atrangi Re' actress teased the first look of their first venture together on Instagram. The shooting of this untitled romantic comedy helmed by 'Mimi' filmmaker Laxman Utekar has already wrapped up. No further details have been announced yet

Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara

After a gap of four years, Shah Rukh Khan will be treating fans with not one but three films in 2023. All three films are with directors he has worked for the first time. For Jawan, his first pan-India film, Khan will be seen sharing screen with South film superstar Nayanthara. Directed by Atlee, the film promises to show the actor in a different avatar. The film will be released in June next year

Rashmika Mandanna and Sidharth Malhotra

Rashmika is one of the most popular actors across India and when she set foot in the Hindi film industry, this was the first film signed by the actress, making Sidharth her first co-star in Bollywood. Though her film Goodbye came out first, 'Mission Majnu' was the first Hindi film she started work on. The two actors have been paired opposite each other in this spy drama set in the 1970s. The film will be released on Netflix on January 20

Sidharth Malhotra and Disha Patani

Filmmaker Karan Johar's action-thriller would bring together 'Student of the Year' actor Sidharth Malhotra and 'Malang' actor Disha Patani in their first film together. The film is all set to release on July 7, 2023.

Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday

'Liger' actor Ananya Panday would appear alongside Ayushmann Khurrana in the sequel of the 2019 hit 'Dream Girl', which starred Nushratt Bharuccha. The film would grace the theatres on June 29, 2023
