Vinod Mehra was 26 when he started off his film career as an adult. He starred in 1971's Ek Thi Rita along with Tanuja, which went on to become a smash hit. The film was based on the English play, A Girl Called Rita. Vinod Mehra went on to star in critically-acclaimed films like Amar Prem and Anuraag.
