Cheering for her from the stands was none other than her actor-husband Ranveer Singh. On Monday morning, Ranveer dropped videos from his time at the stadium. The survival thriller 'Joram', which stars Manoj Bajpayee, is set to have its world premiere in the Big Screen Competition section at the 52nd edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR). The film festival is to be held from January 26 to February 6 in the Netherlands. 'Joram', according to the film's logline, narrates the story of a bereaved father who must be on the run with his baby girl across half the country to escape the ghosts of his past and the forces that want him dead at any cost. The film, directed by Devashish Makhija, marks the third collaboration between the director and Manoj Bajpayee after their short film 'Tandav' and the 2020 feature 'Bhonsle', for which 'The Family Man' star got the National Award for best actor. A shy dentist on the surface, a menacing killer beneath — Kartik Aaryan’s portrayal of the unhinged dentist in Freddy surprised many. Director Shashanka Ghosh deliberately left the film’s climax open-ended, teasing viewers about the possibility of a second instalment. Barely three weeks since Freddy dropped on Disney+ Hotstar, producer Jay Shewakramani has confirmed to mid-day that a sequel to the psychological thriller is in the works. “That open-ended bit [enables us] to look at a sequel, which is definitely on the cards. I have told the writers to work on it. When we get a good story, we’ll make the sequel,” states Shewakramani, pleased by the positive response to the movie. Read full story here
The formula of remaking older successful films or making their sequels has been one that has mostly proven profitable for producers and the latest movies to get this treatment are 'Omkara' and 'Desi Boyz'. Veteran producer Anand Pandit has joined hands with Eros International and Parag Sanghvi to produce the sequels of 'Desi Boyz' and a re-make of Vishal Bhardwaj's directorial hit 'Omkara'. As of now, the makers of these two films have not revealed the star cast for the two films. "We have often wondered what happened to our favourite cinematic characters and if their journey took them in surprising directions. These films will answer many such questions. We will work together to ensure that the essence of these classics remains untouched even as we infuse new energy and fresh vibrance in them," said Sunil Lulla, Chairman, Eros Motion Pictures. To my fellow mamas, listening to your body post delivery is key. Do not do anything your gut tells you not to. All it took was one phone call to get the superstar on board, says Deshmukh. “The song required an A-lister to grace it. So, one day, I called Salman bhai. I didn’t even have to say anything; he agreed to do the song, without hearing any details. I told him that I needed to meet him [to share the details of my] request, but he said it wasn’t necessary. His graciousness leaves me speechless. I have never done a dance number with him before.
