Shah Rukh Khan was born on November 2, 1965, in New Delhi. He has a south connect as well, as SRK had spent the first five years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the chief engineer of the port in the 1960s. King Khan's Pathan lineage is said to have nodes on the other side of the border as well. Before he got into films, Shah Rukh Khan also did theatre. The actor was a part of theatre guru Barry John's troupe. This 1989 telefilm, written by Arundhati Roy, features the superstar in one of his earliest roles. The film, In Which Annie Gives it Those Ones, is based on architecture students, who are in their final year of college. It won two National Awards.
