Born on December 18, 1979, Shruti Seth is a complete Mumbai girl. She has a degree in Economics and Commerce from Mumbai's prestigious St Xaviers' College. At 22 Shruti made her Television debut with Maan (2001). However, she rose to fame with the fantasy sitcom - Shararat (2003-2007). Shruti played a teenage witch Jiya. In the same year, she also made her Bollywood debut with Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II (All photos/Shruti Seth's official Instagram account)

Reminiscing her Shararat journey, Shruti had told IANS, "The show came in 2003 and now it's 2019. It's been almost 16 years and people still talk about it. As an actor, the universe is kind that I have been blessed with such love for the character which I played years ago."

In 2006, Shruti Seth got her big break in Bollywood with Aamir Khan and Kajol-starrer Fanaa. She played 'Fatty', Kajol's best friend.

Shruti Seth kept herself active on both, small screen and big screen, platforms. She was seen in movies like Ta Ra Rum Pum, Raajneeti and Slumdog Millionaire. On the television front, she starred in shows like Baal Veer, The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir and Rishta.Com as an actor and Comedy Circus Ke Mahabali, Comedy Circus Ke Ajoobe, Kahani Comedy Circus Ki, Comedy Circus 20 20, My Desi Top 20, and Mum Tum Aur Hum as an anchor.

Shruti Seth has never really been part of a daily soap in a pivotal role. Talking about daily soap operas, she said in an interview, 'You'll never see me in a soap. I don't particularly like the content of Indian dramas (Soap Opera). But if it would change with the time or some interesting would come up in future, then may be I would work in them. But not in the regular soap operas.'

'I find them a bit unrealistic because I don't find people who cry all the time in reality and most of the shows are based on this. I don't relate this to real life,' added Shruti Seth, who has mostly been involved in anchoring comedy shows.

In 2010, Shruti Seth married filmmaker Danish Aslam. The couple has a daughter Alina Aslam, who turned 5 this year.

Shruti Seth had posted this pretty picture with daughter Alina a few months ago that left netizens crazy with her uncanny resemblance with actress Alia Bhatt. People posted comments like: "shhe looks like alia bhatt," and "She looks lyk choti alia Bhatt ???????? ... Hope she vl be one day."

Shruti Seth gives preference to the people that she will work with more than the content of projects offered to her. 'For me, the people I work with are more important. Even if the content is good and the people that I will be working with are not good, then I will not accept the show,' Shruti said in an interview.

'It shouldn't be like I am working somewhere and the environment is not good and I feel 'Why the hell am I here'. While doing TV shows, an actor spends 14 to 16 hours of the day shooting for it, so it shouldn't be that when I reach home I feel 'Darn, why did I choose to do it', once I reach home I should be satisfied and happy with what I have done,' she added.

Shruti Seth is a movie buff. 'I love watching new films, especially in the same weekend of their release. But because of my work pattern, I can't really do that too often. Whenever possible, I watch films with my friends, as it is a great stress buster for me. I like to watch films in theatres as they provide the right ambiance that you need to enjoy a film.'

Well, you will be surprised to know that Shruti Seth is not a make-up person. But the actor-anchor can't live without her body spray and lip balm. 'I always keep a bottle of Victoria's Secret body spray with me at all times. Lip balm is another indispensable commodity. MAC is my favourite brand.'

Another interesting thing you will love to know about Shruti Seth is that she jots down pointers and schedule for the day or week in her diary. She also records her secrets in it.

Very few know the fact that Shruti Seth is a complete party animal. The actress loves to wear her dancing shoes and let her hair down once in a while, but she ensures that she doesn't overdo it.

Shruti has had been missing from the screen for a long time. Her last on-screen appearance was SAB TV's sitcom series TV, Biwi Aur Main.

Shruti Seth said, 'I was away due to the lack of interesting offers. I did not want to be typecast, and preferred to host live shows instead.'

Shruti Seth is now seen in Mentalhood, a web series that starts streaming on Ekta Kapoor's ALTBalaji from March 11, 2020. The web-series also features Karisma Kapoor and Sandhya Mridul.

Seth plays a single mother who is a yoga teacher. "There is a bit of me in it as I am also a yoga enthusiast. Otherwise, my character can be termed as a cuckoo who believes in natural healing. She does not want her child to be vaccinated. So, she is quite dysfunctional."

Here's wishing the gorgeous actress good luck!
