Mumtaz: Mumtaz' chemistry with Rajesh Khanna was legendary. They did eight films together, and all of them clicked at the box-office. She tasted success with other actors as well - Khilona (1970, with Sanjeev Kumar), Tere Mere Sapne (1971, with Dev Anand) and Chor Machaye Shor (1974, with Shashi Kapoor). Mumtaz was at the peak of her career when she tied the knot with millionaire Mayur Madhwani in 1974, and quit the industry. She tried her hand at a comeback with Aandhiyan (1990), but the film bombed and the actress refused other film offers. Mumtaz successfully overcame cancer and is quite happy in her life.

Moushumi Chatterjee: She made her acting debut in 1967 with the Bengali film Balika Badhu. She later starred in various Hindi as well as Bengali cinema, thus, becoming one of the highest-paid actresses in Hindi films. Anurag (1972), Parineeta (1969), Anindita (1972), Roti Kapda Aur Makaan (1974), Bhola Bhala (1978), Prem Bandhan (1979) and Ghar Parivar (1991) are among her notable films list. In recent years, she was seen in Zindaggi Rocks (2006), Goynar Baksho (2013) and Piku (2015). In 2019, she joined Bharatiya Janata Party.

Kimi Katkar: Kimi Katkar was seen in 2017 at a book launch in Goa after a hiatus. Kimi, who lit up the screen in the iconic song 'Jumma Chumma De De', now we hear is settled in Goa and makes the rare appearance at noted events.

Anita Raj: Anita Raj was popular in the '80s. The actress starred in films like Zara Si Zindagi, Naukar Biwi Ka, Zameen Aasmaan, Clerk, Masterji. She was seen in TV shows like Char Din Ki Chandni and Anil Kapoor's 24 and most recently in Chhoti Sardarni. At 57, Anita Raj looks super fit. Don't you think so?

Zeenat Aman: Zeenat Aman was known for her bold on-screen appearances. She starred in films like Satyam Shivam Sundaram (1978), Ajnabee (1974), Hare Rama Hare Krishna (1971), The Great Gambler (1979), Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973) and Heera Panna (1973). The veteran actress, who has worked with one of the best actors and filmmakers of the time including the great Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Shammi Kapoor, Feroz Khan, Nasir Hussain, Shakti Samanta, Manoj Kumar, Manmohan Desai and Amitabh Bachchan, was recently spotted in Mumbai. The 67-year-old actress looked unrecognisable.

Nagma: Nagma made her Bollywood debut with Salman Khan in Baaghi: A Rebel for Love and later acted in popular films like Yalgaar, King Uncle, Suhag, Lal Baadshah, Chal Mere Bhai and Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo. However, she later entered politics and opted out of the film industry. In 2018, Nagma made a public appearance at a royal wedding that took place in Mumbai.

Mala Sinha: A legend of Hindi cinema, who was part of popular films like Pyaasa (1957), Gumrah (1963), Himalaya Ki God Mein (1965) and Aankhen (1968) among many others, Mala Sinha reduced her film appearances in the 80s and stopped acting altogether by the early 90s. Sinha married her co-star from Nepali films, Chidambar Prasad Lohani, in the late 60s and over the last two decades has been away from the public gaze.

Meenakshi Seshadri: The actress had a successful journey in Bollywood from the early 80s to mid-90s with memorable flicks like 'Hero' (1983), 'Meri Jung' (1985), 'Shahenshah' (1988), 'Ghayal' (1990) and 'Damini' (1993). Post Ghatak (1996), she quit the industry to take care of her children and has been residing in the US for the last two decades. During this phase, she has rarely been spotted in public.

Anu Aggarwal: Anu rose to fame right after her Bollywood debut Aashiqui (1990). The model-actress, best remembered (besides Aashiqui) for The Cloud Door, Thiruda Thiruda, King Uncle, disappeared from Bollywood six years after her debut. She had met with a road accident in 1999 and was in a coma for a month. Anu teaches yoga, charity work and also was writing an autobiography.

Vyjayanthimala: One of the first female superstars of Hindi cinema, Vyjayanthimala featured in the biggest blockbusters of her era Naya Daur (1957), Sangam (1964) and Madhumati (1958). She even immortalised Chandramukhi on-screen in Devdas (1955). Yet, Vyjayanthimala refused to sign films by the late 60s. She tied the knot in 1968 and shifted to Chennai. Vyjayanthimala dabbled in politics too, but apart from brief appearances here and there, she has rarely been spotted in public.

Leena Chandavarkar: Best remembered as Kishore Kumar's widow, Leena gave a memorable performance in Mehboob Ki Mehndi (1971) opposite superstar Rajesh Khanna. Leena also starred in Bairaag (1976) with Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu. She quit the industry in the 1980s and settled into married life with Kishore Kumar until the latter's untimely death in 1987. She never returned to the big screen but judged a reality show, which was a tribute to her late husband, a few years back.

Jaya Prada: Jaya Prada was a popular actress of the 70s and 80s who joined politics right when she was at the top of her career. She gained much popularity even as a politician, but as of now, she has shunned public life.

Nimmi: A living legend, Nimmi starred in highly successful films like Barsaat (1949), Deedar (1951), Daag (1952) and Aan (1952). She was among the most sought-after actresses of her time. After retiring from films in 1986, she remained in the spotlight for a while for various reasons. She is said to attend events with close friends but amidst the Rs 100 crore box-office drama has pretty much been forgotten by the industry.

Reena Roy: The actress became a sensation with Kalicharan (1975) and Vishwanath (1978), both starring Shatrughan Sinha, and remains Bollywood's most famous Nagin (1976). Like a few others before her, she quit the industry after marrying Pakistani cricketer Mohsin Khan in 1983. Following a failed marriage, she returned to films in the early 90s, but didn't taste success this time. Roy disappeared from the scene altogether following Refugee.

Rajshree: The daughter of renowned filmmaker V. Shantaram, Rajshree acted in classic films like Geet Gaya Patharon Ne (1964), Janwar (1965) and Brahmachari (1968). However, she fell in love with American businessman Greg Chapman and left films after marrying him in the 70s. Since then, Rajshree has settled in the US, where she runs a successful clothing business.

Raakhee: Raakhee established herself as a leading actress with films like 'Sharmilee' (1971), 'Daag: A Poem of Love' (1973), Blackmail (1973) and Tapasya (1976). Raakhee was active till the early 2000s, playing supporting roles. She separated from Gulzar when their daughter Meghna was only a year old. It is said that these days she mostly stays at her farmhouse in Panvel.
