Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani were the guests on the latest episode of Koffee With Karan 8. Host Karan Johar asked both the stars to narrate their proposal stories. Vicky tied the knot with Katrina Kaif in December 2021, while Sidharth Malhotra married Kiara Advani in February 2023

Sidharth's proposal to Kiara: 

Kiara revealed that Sidharth proposed to her in Rome during a vacation with his family. He had planned everything - candle light dinner, etc. He took me for a walk after dinner and these violinists come out of the bushes. His nephew was taking our video. Sid went down on one knee and proposed. I was so overwhelmed... and then he started saying the lines of Shershah - 'Delhi ka seedha saadha launda hoon...' - and I burst out laughing," Kiara narrated

Vicky proposed Katrina a day before wedding: 

The actor revealed that his proposal to Katrina was not well-planned. "It was very last-minute. I had been warned by everyone that if you do not propose, you'll have to hear about it for the rest of your life... I did it one day before the wedding. We had planned a special dinner one day before all the guests were arriving for the wedding," he said

Kiara reveals what she loves, tolerates and hates about Sidharth

On the show, when Kiara was asked what she loves, tolerates and hates about him, she said that she loves how he values people, tolerates his habit of getting late and hates nothing about him. She also said that she has a rule of never going to bed without resolving fights between them. She also said that he is a sulker and it is upto her to convince him

Vicky reveals Shah Rukh Khan apologised to him: 

Vicky narrated an incident from the sets of Dunki. He said that the incident made him realise why Shah Rukh Khan is the Badshah of Bollywood. "One of the shoot days, he had to rush for some important work. There was a critical moment for my character which was with him. He couldn't be there for that shot. I had to give that shot with a body double. Late in the night, he called me and I missed that call. Then he sent me a long message saying 'We'll shoot it again. I am really sorry I couldn't be there to give the cues. I had to call him and convince him that Raju sir is happy, and the shot went well. There is no need to shoot again.' He said, 'No I am feeling terrible, we will do it again.' Next day, when he saw those shots, only then he was assured that we do not have to reshoot... I meet him and I realise how little I am doing at this age."

Karan reveals Kiara was late at her own wedding: 

Karan Johar said that Kiara's wedding was intimate and beautiful. But he also recalled that Kiara was late in getting ready and the baraat was waiting in the heat for her. In her defence, Kiara said that the baraat was way too early and she had problems while getting ready. She also said that she did not get time to click pictures with her bridesmaids. When Vicky said that their wedding video was adorable, Kiara said that the watch scene by Sidharth was later edited into the video

The nickname revelations: 

Vicky revealed that Katrina calls him 'boo boo, baby, and Ayeee'. The third name left Karan and Kiara in splits. Kiara also revealed that she and Sidharth call each other as Monkey. She said it started with Sidharth calling his pet dog Oscar as Monkey and eventually started calling her also with the same nickname

Katrina is the perfect candidate for reverse psychology: Vicky

During the ‘Koffee Shots’ round, the show host Karan Johar, asked the guests if they have cracked the code to get their spouses to do what they want. Talking about the same, Vicky said, “Katrina is a perfect candidate for reverse psychology. If I want her to agree on something, I have to wholeheartedly, with abundance agree to what she wants. And then she turns around and says, 'BTW I see the point in what you're saying', and then she comes around”

Meeting the in-laws: 

Vicky revealed that owing to the pandemic, he got to meet his in-laws only a week before the wedding. He said that they had a party where he danced to 'Tip tip barsa paani' in front of them 

Kiara, on the other hand, revealed the incident when she organically started calling Sidharth's parents mom and dad after the wedding. However, as Kiara's parents are younger Sidharth did not want to call them mom and dad. He instead calls them MIL and FIL
