The second episode of Koffee With Karan 8 began on a fun note with Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol graced the couch of the show hosted by Karan Johar

Karan gave a standing ovation to Sunny on the success of Gadar 2. The actor-politician spoke about the film and said, "There were no promotions for films. But this time, because I started off nearly two months before when we released part one of it I started feeling the buzz from the people, from the audience, the way they were coming and interacting, and how happy they were. I just felt so much love that I remember on the 10th of August when I was coming home, I remember Bobby being there, Papa being there, I was just laughing and crying as if something was happening within me."

Karan questioned Sunny, "I was watching your interviews, and you were saying, ‘Ours are organic collections’. What does that really mean? Do you think that there are inflated numbers being given by us? Are we inflating box office numbers, Sunny sir?"

The actor replied, "I don’t know. There are times… That’s the way… The world is moving like that, right? If you ask me frankly, all the companies want the product to move ahead, and try to support it, so that it gets the buzz out there.  I know that does happen, and it is happening. But that’s the way it is. It’s not like one particular person… That’s the way society is moving right now."

Sunny made a major revelation on Koffee With Karan 8. He revealed in the episode that he requested Akshay Kumar to postpone the release of OMG 2 to avoid a clash. In the episode, he shared, "Obviously, one wanted the film to be a hit and I had an idea that the film would do well but how well I had no idea. The original Gadar became a massive hit instantly. Everyone that time also there were shows around the clock. I had no idea what the hell was happening but that's what I was hearing because back then, we used to just leave to shoot the next film."

He added, "I asked him. I said, ‘Please don’t do it if it’s in your hands’. But he said, ‘No, the studio and all…'"

Bobby opened up about being through a dark phase in his career. He shared, "I gave up, I started pitying myself. I just took on drinking a lot, I was sitting at home. I used to keep cursing and saying, why don’t people take me? I am good, why don’t they want to work with me? I think I became so negative about everything, that there was no positivity coming from me. I used to sit at home, my wife worked."

Bobby praised Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and said Dharmendra looked cute while romancing Shabana Azmi. In the episode, the brothers reacted to the popular kiss scene from the film. Sunny said, "I said my dad can do whatever he likes and he gets away with it."

Dharmendra, Karan Deol, Rajveer Deol and Aryaman Deol sent special messages for Sunny and Bobby which left them emotional. The brothers fought back their tears post watching the video messages

During the rapid fire round, Sunny had to name things he liked or hated about certain stars. For Shah Rukh Khan, he said, "He is very hardworking. What I don't like about him is, making actors a commodity." 

Regarding Salman, he said, "I think he is a very good human being, but he is making everyone into a bodybuilder. He wants everybody to be a bodybuilder." 

Sunny said Akshay Kumar is punctual 'but what I don't like is that he is doing too many films.'

Bobby defended nepotism and said, "We didn't choose to be born to them. We were blessed to be born to them. We didn't ask, we got it." He cited his own example of how being a star kid doesn't guarantee success. Sunny then shared that he tasted success with Gadar 2 after 20 years

The episode also saw Sunny and Bobby talking about Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. The former said, "They are my sisters. That is what it is. Nothing changes that. They were very happy (with Gadar 2's success)."
