Ayesha Takia studied at St Anthony's Girls High School in Chembur. She started her career at an early age when she became part of a children's health drink campaign. She was also seen in Falguni Pathak's 'Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye' music video. Ayesha Takia went on to act in films like Dil Maange More, Socha Na Tha, Shaadi No. 1, Dor and Wanted, among others.

Remember the little girl who appeared on our TV screens during the early '90s and proclaimed "I am Complan Girl?" She was none other than Ayesha Takia.

Ayesha also appeared in the 'Shake It Daddy' remix of the song 'Nahin Nahin Abhi Nahin' alongside Keith Sequeira. This music video is what brought her into focus and paved the way for her entry into Bollywood. Besides Bollywood, Ayesha Takia was seen in the 2005 Telugu film Super opposite Tollywood star Akkineni Nagarjuna.

Ayesha Takia tied the knot with Farhan Azmi, politician Abu Azmi's son, in 2009 and they have a son, Mikail.

In September 2016, Ayesha Takia was subjected to rumours of having had a lip enhancement surgery because of her fuller lips. The photos on her Instagram account took the internet by storm. However, these reports were not confirmed

Ayesha Takia took to Instagram to shut haters down with a powerful post. She wrote: Crazzzy long arm... me takin selfies! Y not lol! #StopSelfieShaming. All u girls n guys who love urself enough to take ur own picture and feel good about it should be proud. Don't let anyone tell u to dim ur confidence and self love. We live in a world of judgements and bullying, so we need to rise above that n just be who we are and be proud of it. LOVE URSELF [sic]

Ayesha Takia, who took a sabbatical from movies post marriage, silenced her detractors with a powerful post yet again. It read: Hey all you fabulous people, let's be super proud of who we are right now coz it's freakin 2017 and we ain't letting no bullies bring us down. I love myself and you should love yourself too. Be fabulous and #StopSelfieSha-ming, stop picking on people for who they wanna be. It's lame **. Opinions are like a*******, everyone has one. So sc** what others think. [sic]

Ayesha Takia, in an interview talking about social media trolls, said, 'We are surrounded by social media today. You have to develop a thick skin and get over it. So, I cleared things out as much as I could and ultimately laughed it off.'

Ayesha Takia's role in the 2005 film Socha Na Tha was much appreciated, along with her co-star Abhay Deol. She also appeared in the comedy Shaadi No. 1 and Home Delivery, both which did not fare well

In 2006, Ayesha Takia starred in the romantic comedy Shaadi Se Pehle opposite Akshaye Khanna and Mallika Sherawat. It was loosely inspired by Mere Biwi Ki Shaadi which starred Amol Palekar. She also appeared in another multi-starrer, Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota

In 2006, Ayesha Takia was lauded for her stellar performance in the drama Dor, directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. She won many awards for her role.

Another few multi-starrers again in 2007 - Salaam-E-Ishq opposite Akshaye Khanna, Fool N Final opposite Shahid Kapoor and Cash opposite Zayed Khan. While the former was well received, the other two did not fare well.

Ayesha Takia last starred in Bollywood film Mod (2011), which received a fairly good response. She tried her hands in Television in 2012 and turned a host for the musical-reality show Sur Kshetra.

Ayesha Takia made a comeback in 2017 with the music video titled Zindagi Tujhse Kya Karen Shikvey from the album Zindagi Yeh Zindagi. The song directed by Lovely Singh, Amit Mishra had lent the voice and it was composed by Raaj Aashoo.
