Tabu

Vishal Bhardwaj's adaptation of William Shakespeare's Macbeth, 'Maqbool' featured Irrfan Khan playing the titular role, along with a stellar cast: Tabu, Pankaj Kapur, Om Puri and Naseeruddin Shah. Tabu did justice to her character Nimmi, by potraying every emotion be it love, ambition, guilt and much more!

Tabu won a National award for 'Best actress' for her potrayal as Mumtaz in Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Chandni Bar.' A gritty tale about the underworld and dance bars, watch Tabu go from a naive young woman, to a bar dancer and finally a mother seeking justice.

Who can forget Tabu as Anuradha in Priyadarshan's 'Hera Pheri.' Although it was Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal leading the cast, Tabu left an impact with her hilarious act be it her desperation for a job or her attempts to seduce Suniel's character Shyam, she had us rolling on the floor laughing!

Tabu won a National award for her potrayal of Veeran in 'Maachis.' The Vishal Bhardwaj film dealt with terrorism in Punjab post the 1984 riots.

This Mira Nair directorial was based on the novel 'The Namesake' by Jhumpa Lahiri. The film showed the struggles of Ashoke and Ashima Ganguli (Irrfan Khan and Tabu), first-generation immigrants from Bengal to the United States. Watching powerhouse performers Tabu and Irrfan come together was an absolute treat.
