Rahul Bose turns 57 today. He is an actor, director, screenwriter, and social activist. He has worked in front of the camera in the Hindi, Bengali, and Tamil film industries. His first acting role was at the age of six when he played the lead character in a school play. During his school days, he was also introduced to boxing and rugby and was coached in cricket by former Indian cricket captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. He worked in the advertising industry before he became a full-time actor. On his birthday we look back at five of his most memorable performances in the Hindi film industry

'Bulbbul' (2020)

Written and directed by Anvita Dutt, the supernatural thriller, Bose plays the role of Indranil. He gets married to Bulbbul (Tripti Dimri) when she is 5-years-old. The story is set in the backdrop of 1880s Bengal presidency and narrates the story of Bulbbul's rise from innocence to strength

'Chameli' (2004)

Rahul essays the role of Aman Kapoor, an investment banker, who meets Chameli (Kareena Kapoor Khan). They strike a conversation and end up discussing about their lives

'Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii' (2007)

Rahul Bose essays the role of Varun Roy, the captain of the Indian cricket team, in this fantasy sports drama. He is introduced to an exceptionally good batsman, Karan, and the two form a strong bond. The film was released in 2007 and is one of Bose's most popular works.

'Pyaar Ke Side Effects' (2006)

This Hindi romantic comedy stars Mallika Sherawat and Rahul Bose in lead roles. The film explores the intricacies of modern relationships.  A sequel, 'Shaadi Ke Side Effects', was released in 2014 with Vidya Balan and Farhan Akhtar in the lead roles

'Dil Dhadakne Do' (2015)

Rahul Bose essays the role of Priyanka Chopra's husband in this Zoya Akhtar's directorial. The film features an ensemble cast of Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, and Anushka Sharma
