Photos of Emraan Hashmi with his family: A loving husband, a doting dad

Emraan Hashmi was born on March 24, 1979, in Mumbai. Although he may have portrayed characters with negative shades he's nothing short of a superhero in real life.

Emraan Hashmi is a consummate family man in his personal life and often prefers to spend time with wife Parveen Shahani and son Ayaan Hashmi. He revealed in an interview that Parveen handles all his personal accounts and that he actually asks her for money! Emraan says she's his boss.

Emraan Hashmi and wife Parveen Shahani knew each other even before he forayed into Bollywood. Parveen was a school teacher then.

Emraan Hashmi and Parveen Shahani tied the knot in 2006 after dating for six years, in a private Islamic wedding ceremony. They became proud parents to son Ayaan in 2010.

Emraan Hashmi is the nephew of filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt, and the cousin of actors Pooja Bhatt, Alia Bhatt, Rahul Bhatt and filmmaker Mohit Suri.

Emraan Hashmi is quite close to his son Ayaan. It is inspiring to know that the little boy defeated a debilitating disease like cancer at a young age and emerged triumphant. He was diagnosed with first stage cancer at the age of four in early 2014.

Needless to say, Emraan Hashmi was devastated after his son Ayaan was diagnosed with cancer. On the professional front too, Emraan was going through a tough time as his films had failed to fare well at the box-office.

Emraan Hashmi was by his son Ayaan's side while he was undergoing cancer treatment. In 2016, Emraan also wrote a book titled The Kiss Of Life on Ayaan's battle with cancer.

In his book, Emraan Hashmi discussed how he and his family struggled to cope with Ayaan's cancer diagnosis and treatment. The actor strived to stay positive as each day passed.

Emraan Hashmi has stated in many interviews about how his son Ayaan's recovery against such an unconquerable disease was a huge life lesson for him as a doting dad.

On January 14, 2019, Emraan Hashmi announced that Ayaan has been declared cancer-free. He took to social media and wrote, 'Today, five years after his diagnosis, Ayaan has been declared cancer free. It has been quite a journey. Thank you for all your prayers and wishes. Love and prayers for all the cancer fighters out there. Hope and belief go a long way. You can win this battle.'

Emraan Hashmi values his private life greatly and used to be rarely spotted in public with Parveen and Ayaan. They used to mostly get clicked while on private dinner outings or parties on a few occasions.

But all that changed after his book's launch as Emraan Hashmi and Ayaan were especially spotted in public at several events.

Talking about his professional life, soon after he shot to Bollywood stardom with Murder in 2004, Emraan Hashmi acquired the tag of 'Serial Kisser', for his tendency to pucker up on the screen with his heroines. It took him several films to get rid of the image.

Over the years, roles in films like Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, The Dirty Picture, Shanghai, Azhar, Baadshaho and Tigers, and the web series Bard Of Blood, have helped him change his image into an actor from just a 'Serial Kisser'.

Last seen in  Dybbuk, Emraan Hashmi will be next seen in Akshay Kumar's Selfiee and Salman Khan's Tiger 3.

Here's wishing a very happy birthday to Emraan Hashmi!
