Born on August 26, 1980, Neeru Bajwa's real name is Arshveer Bajwa. The Canadian-born Punjabi Sikh actress started her career in 1998 with the movie Main Solah Baras Ki starring Dev Anand. (All photos/Neeru Bajwa's official Instagram account)

After a debut which hardly got any recognition, Neeru Bajwa finally entered the television world in 2003 with Hari Mirchi Lal Mirchi, that aired on DD1. Soon after, she also starred in Astitva... Ek Prem Kahani (Zee TV), Jeet (Star Plus) and also Guns and Roses (Star One).

Very few would be able to recollect that Neeru Bajwa had even played a small role in the very famous TV series CID (Special Bureau).

Neeru Bajwa appeared in the famous Punjabi song 'Kainthey Wala' by Kamal Heer, a runaway hit, which proved as the turning point in her career. Not just that, she was also seen in Atif Aslam's famous number 'Hum Kis Gali Ja Rahe Hain'.

Though Neeru Bajwa couldn't make a mark in the Hindi television industry, the actress, in 2004, had started off her acting career in the Punjabi industry already and was slowly getting good recognition.

Asa Nu Maan Watna Da was Neeru Bajwa's Punjabi debut, opposite Harbhajan Mann. She later starred in films such as Dil Apna Punjabi, Munde U.K. De, Heer Ranjha, Mel Karade Rabba, until she got an offer from Bollywood.

In 2010, Neeru Bajwa made her full-fledged Bollywood debut with Vivek Oberoi-starrer Prince. In the same year, she also starred in Phoonk 2. However, none did well at the Box Office. She tried her luck once again with Miley Naa Miley Hum, that starred Kangana Ranaut and Chirag Paswan, son of politician Ram Vilas Paswan. But this film too bombed at the Box Office.

Nevertheless, Neeru Bajwa was still one of the famous actresses in the Punjabi film industry and despite receiving thumbs-down from Bollywood, she was hands full of offers in Pollywood.

By 2012, Neeru Bajwa became a Pollywood star after she delivered hits such as Jatt and Juliet opposite Diljit Dosanjh, followed by Jihne Mera Dil Luteya opposite Diljit Dosanjh and Gippy Grewal. In the same year, Neeru made a small cameo with the Special Chabbis song 'Gore Mukhde Peh Zulfen' alongside Akshay Kumar.

On the personal front, after ending her 8-year long courtship with actor Amit Sadh, Neeru Bajwa married Harmikpal Jawandha in 2015. The couple has a daughter Aanaya Kaur Jawandha. The little girl turned four this year. Bajwa gave birth to twins, both girls, in January 2020.
