Chennai Express to Jawan, highest-grossing Shah Rukh films that created new box office records

Were you surprised by the humongous first-day collection of Shah Rukh Khan's comeback film, Pathaan, in January this year? The superstar himself has now broken his own record with Jawan. The Atlee-actioner opened its account at the box office with a whopping Rs. 65 crores, which is Rs. 10 crores more than Pathaan's day 1 collection. My Name Is Khan: Worldwide Gross: 285 Crores

Shah Rukh Khan's My Name Is Khan, released in 2010, was one of the first members of the 200-crore club. According to IMDb, the film's worldwide gross was Rs. 285 crores

Don 2: Worldwide Gross: 280 Crores

Don 2, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra, released in 2011. The film directed by Farhan Akhtar reportedly collected Rs 280 crores worldwide

Jab Tak Hai Jaan: Worldwide Gross: 211 Crores

Jab Tak Hai Jaan was Yash Chopra's last directorial. Released in 2012, it was a star-studded film with Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead. As per IMDb's report, the romantic drama made Rs. 211 crores globally

Chennai Express: Worldwide Gross: 423 Crores

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are certainly a blockbuster pair. With Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express, they set the box office ringing. The film's worldwide gross, as per IMDb, is Rs. 423 crores 

Happy New Year: Worldwide Gross: 408 Crores

Farah Khan-directed Happy New Year might not have received critical appreciation but the audience certainly enjoyed the film in theatres. Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani and Vivan Shah were in central roles. According to IMDb, it collected Rs. 408 crores globally

Dilwale: Worldwide Gross: 400 Crores

Shah Rukh Khan's reunion with Kajol was one of the key highlights of Rohit Shetty's Dilwale. Despite receiving mixed responses from the critics, it went on to create new box office records. Globally, the film reportedly earned Rs. 400 crores

Fan: Worldwide Gross: 188.4 Crores

Polarised response to the new-age film Fan certainly couldn't hamper the desires of fans to watch the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer. The YRF film reportedly earned Rs. 188 crores worldwide

Raees: Worldwide Gross: 308 Crores

Shah Rukh Khan and Mahira Khan's Raees released in 2017 amid much excitement and anticipation. This resulted in favourable box office numbers. The film reportedly entered the coveted 300-crore club globally

Zero: Worldwide Gross: 191.44 Crores

Zero, directed by Aanand L. Rai, wasn't critically appreciated but the audience certainly supported Shah Rukh in his experiment. The result was Rs. 191 crores globally. The film also starred Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif

Pathaan: Worldwide Gross: 1050.05 Crores

Shah Rukh Khan ended his 5-year-long break after Zero with YRF's Pathaan. The spy-thriller naturally had a strong pre-release buzz and the box office was set on fire with the anticipation. According to reports, Pathaan, co-starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, collected Rs 543.09 crores in India and Rss 1050.05 crores globally 

Jawan: Worldwide: 129.06 Crores (Day 1)

The bomb-Jawan-has finally exploded. Shah Rukh Khan's second release this year has a star-studded cast. Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and Deepika Padukone are in the ensemble with him. The film collected Rs. 129.06 crores globally on the first day
