Celebrities who have adopted rescued pets

Here's taking a look at some popular celebrities who adopted rescued pets and gave them a forever home.

J-Hope’s sister Jiwoo revealed that their Shih Tzu Mickey is a rescue. Mickey was left at a gas station with a note from an elderly couple. Their daughter left her dog with them, but they were unable to take care of a young puppy. Jiwoo and her mom ended up bringing the puppy home and today Mickey is popular among BTS Army.

In a recent interview on mid-day.com's 'Celebrity Pet Parents' Hansika had revealed, that she adopted her Teacup Maltese dog Teddy from his former owner who did not want to keep him. 

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas adopted Panda, a Husky Australian Shepard mix in 2020. The actress had posted on Instagram, "Our new family portrait! Welcome to the family, Panda! We adopted this little rescue (soon he won’t be so little) just a few weeks ago. We can’t be sure but he seems to be a Husky Australian Shepard mix.... and those eyes... and the ears!!"

Raveena Tandon in a recent interview on mid-day.com's 'Celebrity Pet Parents' said, "I've rescued a baby bat, owls and soon it became like Dr Dolittle's house." The actress says even as a child she would pick up strays and bring them home. "I'm happy that my parents were also animal people and that compassion streak carried on."

Elli AvrRam is proud mother to her cat Charles, whom she adopted from the sets of 'Malang.' In an interview on mid-day.com's 'Celebrity Pet Parents' she said, "Everyone, even my fans, know me  as the crazy mother of Charles. I love him and talk about him so much."

Speaking about Mija, Akansha told mid-day.com on 'Celebrity Pet Parents' “I don’t think there's enough awareness in India about pet adoption. Buying pets is terrible because breeders put them in terrible conditions and alter them for your needs, they cut their tails and inbreed. Indies are local to our temperature, area, our food, so please adopt don’t shop.”

Actor-comedian Rajpal Yadav adopted his dog Buddy from the sets of his film. The actor in an interview with mid-day.com's 'Celebrity Pet Parents' said, "My friend Lakshmi had approached me for a short film also featuring Buddy when he was just two months old. When the shoot wrapped up my daughter asked her what will happen to Buddy and she was told he will go back to the dog centre. She felt very sad and suggested we should bring him home"

Jennifer Aniston adopted her dog Lord Chesterfield in 2020. She had posted on Instagram, "Hi! I’d like to introduce to you the newest member of our family….this is (a very tired) Lord Chesterfield . He stole my heart immediately. A HUGE thank you to @wagmorpets for the incredible work you do. Grateful you take such great care of these rescues and find them their forever homes."

Kaley Cuoco has adopted many dogs that live on her Coachella Valley farm, all of whom are rescues.

Dua Lipa adopted a rescue puppy named Dexter.

 

John Abraham adopted a pup rescued from the streets by an animal adoption agency and named her Bailey. She and her sibling Sia have an Instagram account of their own.

Actress and influencer Shirley Setia, is pet mom to three cats, Thor, Loki and Sylvie. She says, “It started off with one, Loki a Persian cat. Sylvie found me and I adopted her. I used to walk a lot during lockdown, upto 10 kilometres and that’s how I found her.”

Abhishek Banerjee and wife Tina found their adorable cat Kiwi, at Palolem beach in Goa 8 years ago and today she has become the love of their life. Mid-day.com caught up with Abhishek and Kiwi at their Juhu apartment for a tete-a tete on 'Celebrity Pet Parents', where the actor said, "We were at a shack and Kiwi at that time was a tiny kitten. She came and started asking for food and we were in awe of how she was communicating so well. She was very ferocious, she was not requesting, she was demanding food. We stayed in that shack for four days and Tina had her eyes on Kiwi.”

BTS's Jungkook's earlier dog who passed away Gureum was adopted from an animal shelter. He is now pet dad to Bahm.

Similarly, group mate Seokjin aka Jin's family had adopted Jjangu a white Maltese dog.

Ariana Grande has not just adopted dogs but also started a nonprofit animal shelter called Orange Twins Rescue in Los Angeles.
