Born and raised in Mumbai, Fardeen went to Juhu's popular school - Jamnabai Narsee School, Mumbai. After completing his graduation in Business Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Fardeen pursued an acting course from Kishore Namith Kapoor Acting School.

Fardeen Khan is the nephew of Bollywood actors Sanjay Khan and Akbar Khan. His uncle Sanjay was a popular actor in the 1960s and 1970s and went on to famously portraying Tipu Sultan in a 1990s television series. Actors Zayed Khan, Hrithik Roshan's ex-wife Sussanne Khan and jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali are Fardeen's cousins.

Fardeen Khan has a sister - Laila Khan - who is four years older to him. Laila is married to Farhan Ebrahim Furniturewalla, who is actress Pooja Bedi's ex-husband.

Fardeen Khan co-debuted with actress Meghna Kothari with the 1998 film Prem Aggan, which was written, produced and directed by his father Feroz Khan. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for Prem Aggan.

Fardeen Khan went on to star in films such as Jungle (2000), Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega (2001), Om Jai Jagadish (2002), Janasheen (2005), No Entry (2005), Heyy Babyy (2007), and All the Best: Fun Begins (2009).

In 2005, Fardeen Khan got married to Natasha Madhwani, daughter of veteran actress Mumtaz. The couple is parents to daughter Diani Isabella Khan (born in 2013) and son Azarius (born in 2017).

Fardeen Khan's last Bollywood outing was the 2010 film Dulha Mil Gaya, which also starred Sushmita Sen and Shah Rukh Khan. It failed to be successful at the box office. The actor didn't act in any film post Dulha Mil Gaya.

Over the years, Fardeen Khan was seriously contemplating turning a producer. The actor had been listening to scripts and was also keen on working on his father Feroz Khan's Qurbani remake. However, nothing concrete could take place and the film shelved.

Fardeen Khan was rumoured to be making his Bollywood comeback with a sequel to No Entry but the buzz faded soon.

Fardeen Khan is also a huge WWE wrestling fan.

TRIVIA: Fardeen Khan was first signed for Abbas-Mustan's Race. He was the first choice to play the role of Saif Ali Khan's brother, which was later played by Akshaye Khanna.

Fardeen Khan had signed Hansal Mehta's Shaadi.com, which was launched by Feroz Khan in 2005. The film, which also starred Celina Jaitley and Paresh Rawal, got shelved later.

Remember Neil Nitin Mukesh's Jail? Fardeen Khan was the first choice for the role.

Fardeen Khan was also signed for Partho Gosh's Chaiyaan Chaiyaan. The film was supposed to star Preity Zinta as the lead actress, however, this film too shelved.

Feroz Khan had also launched Tera Saath Hain Kitna Pyaara, which was to star Fardeen Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. However, the film shelved as Ash opted out of it.

"For the first time in my life, I set out to reclaim my health. I wanted to look after both my physical and mental well-being. The loss of weight, while an integral part of the journey, was only a [by-product] of my attempt to function optimally," said Fardeen Khan regarding his physical transformation in an interview with mid-day.
