Film casting is an art in itself. Miscasts can hamper the quality of storytelling to great extents. Band Baaja Baaraat (2010)
The film that marked the debut of actor Ranveer Singh was first offered to Ranbir Kapoor. He, however, denied the role paving the way for a 'band baaja' debut of Ranveer
Delhi Belly (2011)
This is a film that was not everyone's cup of tea including taking up a role in it. Ranbir Kapoor was among the several actors who turned down the film. Eventually Imran Khan essayed the lead role in his uncle Aamir Khan's production
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara (2011)
According to reports, director Zoya Akhtar first offered the role of Arjun to Ranbir Kapoor. However, he refused and it was eventually played by Hrithik Roshan. Well, all turned out to be for the best as one cannot imagine the film without the trio of Hrithik, Abhay and Farhan
Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela (2013)
After his debut film 'Saawariya', Sanjay Leela Bhansali wanted to work with Ranbir Kapoor again and offered him 'Goliyon ki Rasleela Ram-Leela'. However, the actor excused himself from the film and it went to Ranveer Singh. The film brought together Ranveer and Deepika and the rest as they say is history
Bang Bang (2014)
Director Siddharth Anand had first offered the film to Ranbir Kapoor. Reportedly, the actor has a policy of not doing multi-starrers and remakes. Bang Bang was the remake of the Hollywood actioner Knight and Day. The film was eventually done by Hrithik Roshan making it a hit
2 States (2014)
The film was first offered to Ranbir Kapoor and when he said no it went on to Arjun Kapoor. If Ranbir had onboarded the film, it would have been his first film with now-wife Alia Bhatt
Dil Dhadakne Do (2015)
After ZNMD, Zoya offered Dil Dhadakne Do to Ranbir. She initially wanted Ranbir and Kareena to play siblings in the film. However, when Ranbir rejected the film, Bebo also moved out of the film. The roles were then played by Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra
Dilwale (2015)
Before Varun Dhawan, Ranbir was offered the film. He could have shared screen alongside Shah Rukh Khan with this Rohit Shetty film
Befikre (2016)
Aditya Chopra wanted Ranbir Kapoor in his first non-SRK directorial. However, it did not pan out and the film went to Ranveer Singh. He was cast opposite Vaani Kapoor. The film did not work at the box office
Gully Boy (2019)
Zoya Akhtar once again offered Ranbir a film. He reportedly said no to the film saying it is a supporting role. This too went on to Ranveer Singh
