Aanand L Rai and Akshay Kumar are collaborating for the second time in a year after the film Atrangi Re which was released in December 2021.
While Akshay Kumar essayed a special role in Atrangi Re, he will be seen in a full fledged role in Raksha Bandhan directed by Aanand L Rai. The film will be released in theatres on August 11.
Akshay Kumar essays the role of Lala Kedarnath, the eldest and the only brother of four sisters. He runs a chaat shop and has the responsibility of getting all his sisters married. He made a promise to his mother on her death bed that he would get married only after his sisters are married.
'Raksha Bandhan' also stars Bhumi Pednekar. This is the second time that Bhumi will be seen sharing screen with Akshay after 'Toilet-Ek Prem Katha'. She plays the role of Sapna, Akshay Kumar's childhood love.
With just a month remaining for the release of the film, Akshay Kumar shared BTS pictures giving a glimpse of the bond he shared with the team of the film while shooting for the film. The film will be clashing with Aamir Khan's 'Laal Singh Chaddha' at the box-office.
