Kishore Pradhan, who is known for his role as a stationmaster in Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor's Jab We Met, January 11, 2019. He was 86. He acted in more than 100 Marathi theatre plays, and about 18 English plays. Pradhan started his acting career while pursuing a degree at Morris College in Nagpur. After participating in his college festivals, the veteran actor started his own theatre group, Natraj.
Mahesh Anand, who found popularity as the villain's henchman in 1980s and 1990s Bollywood, was found dead at his Versova flat on February 10, 2019. He was 57. The actor had performed in several hit films including Shahenshah, Coolie No 1, Swarg, Kurukshetra and Vijeta and shared the screen with top stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Govinda and Sanjay Dutt.
The famed producer, who gave us memorable hits like Maine Pyaar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Hum Saath-Saath Hain, and many more Rajshri family dramas passed away in Mumbai on February 21, 2019. Raj Kumar Barjatya's last production venture Hum Chaar hit screens on February 15, 2019. He passed away at 76.
Hollywood actor Luke Perry, known for his roles in Beverly Hills 90210 and Riverdale, passed away on March 4, just days after suffering a massive stroke. He was 52.

Navtej Hundal, who was last seen playing the role of Home Minister in the Vicky Kaushal-starrer Uri: The Surgical Strike passed away on April 8, 2019. Hundal was also seen in films such as The Whisperers, Angaaray, and Doosra Kanoon. His daughter Avantika Hundal is currently seen in a popular show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein.
This man gave the world Bollywood legend, Shah Rukh Khan. The superstar's debut television serial Fauji's director Colonel Raj Kumar Kapoor breathed his last on April 11, 2019. Shah Rukh Khan, then only 24 years old, played the leading role of Abhimanyu Rai in the famed 1988 Doordarshan show.
Ajay Devgn's father Veeru Devgan, a popular stunt and action choreographer of the Hindi film industry, passed away on May 27, 2019. Veeru worked in more than 80 Bollywood films. His filmography includes films like Inkaar (1977), Mr. Natwarlal (1979), Kranti (1981), Himmatwala (1983), Shahenshah (1988), Tridev (1989), Baap Numbri Beta Dus Numbri (1990), Phool Aur Kaante (1991) and host of other films.
Veteran model, comedian, film and theatre actor Dinyar Contractor passed away on June 5, 2019. The Padma Shri recipient was known for his roles in Bollywood films like Badshah, 36 China Town, and Khiladi. He started acting while in school and began his career in 1966. Contractor was a renowned Gujarati theatre personality and film veteran.
Multilingual actor and playwright Girish Karnad, who entertained the audience with his performances, passed away at his residence in Bengaluru on June 10, 2019. He was aged 81. For four decades, Girish Karnad has composed multilingual plays to tackle contemporary issues. Tollywood actress and director Vijaya Nirmala passed away at the age of 73 on June 27, 2019. She was ill from the last few days and was undergoing treatment. Nirmala, known for her acting and direction in the Tollywood film industry has directed over 40 films. She had also marked her entry in the Guinness book of world records as the female director with the highest number of films in 2002. She is also the step-mother of popular Telugu actor Mahesh Babu.
Cameron Boyce, known for his roles in Disney's Descendants and its Channel show Jessie died at the age of 20 on July 6, 2019. The actor passed away after suffering a seizure as a result of "an ongoing medical condition". Boyce made his acting debut at the age of nine with horror film Mirrors. Jessie was his breakthrough and he soon became one of the biggest Disney Channel stars.
Telugu actor Amit Purohit, who was last seen in the film Sammohanam, passed away on July 10, 2019. Purohit played Aditi Rao Hydari's ex-boyfriend in 2018 hit Sammohanam. Purohit was known for his roles in Shobhna's Seven Nights (2012), Aalaap (2012) among others.
Veteran Bengali actor Swarup Dutta, best known for his versatile roles in films of the 1960s and 1970s died on July 17, 2019. Some of his best-known movies included Sagina Mahato, Harmonium, Pita Putra and Maa o Meye. He was 78 and survived by wife and son.
Hrithik Roshan's maternal grandfather and noted filmmaker J Om Prakash passed away at the age of 93 on August 7, 2019. J Om Prakash was best known for directing films such as Aap Ki Kasam, Aakhir Kyon?, Apna Bana Lo, Apnapan, Aasha, Arpan, Aadmi Khilona Hai. He also produced box office hit films like Ayee Milan Ki Bela, Aas Ka Panchhi, Aaye Din Bahar Ke, and many others.
Vidya Sinha, best remembered for her roles in Basu Chatterjee's films such as Rajnigandha (1974) and Chhoti Si Baat (1976), and BR Chopra's Pati, Patni Aur Woh (1978), passed away on August 15, 2019. A spokesperson for the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner confirmed to people.com that Tarantina died from acute intoxication by the combined effects of fentanyl, heroin, diazepam, and cocaine. Tarantina, who played the Gaslight comedy club emcee Jackie on the Emmy-winning Amazon Prime series, was found in his Manhattan apartment on November 2 after officers with the New York City Police Department received a call about an unconscious person, an NYPD spokesperson previously confirmed.
The Marathi film industry lost a budding singer Geeta Mali in a road accident on November 15, 2019, near Shahapur on Mumbai-Nashik Highway. Geeta, who had sung devotional songs in Hindi and Marathi, was returning home after performing in New York.
Veteran theatre and film actor Shaukat Azmi passed away on November 23, 2019. She was 90 and had been ailing for some time. Shaukat, mother of Shabana Azmi, is best remembered for her roles in M S Sathyu's Garam Hawa (1973) and Muzaffar Ali's Umrao Jaan (1981).

Actor Kushal Punjani, who is best known for his appearance in films like Lakshya, Andaz and Kaal, passed away on December 27, 2019. He was found dead at his Mumbai house. The actor, 42, died of an apparent suicide and also left behind a note in which he said nobody should be held responsible for his death. Punjabi started his career as a dancer and model.
