Mana Shetty's charity fundraiser exhibition is held every year, the proceeds of which go to an initiative for the protection of children's rights in India. In picture: Suniel Shetty, Mana Shetty, Sarita Tanwar and actor Gulshan Grover.
"Araaish is much more than a charity fundraiser," said Mana Shetty (in an interview with mid-day in 2016), whose shopping extravaganza started with sister Isha Mehra and BFF Sharmilla Khanna, as a one-off show in Mumbai in 2007. It was in tribute to her mother, the late philanthropist, Vipula Kadri.

"It is the largest fashion fund-raiser to help special needs kids and young women at Save The Children India," said Shetty in the interview adding, "And I share a deep emotional connect with my mother through it."
Mrs. Kadri, the wife of the renowned architect IM Kadri, had been a statuesque and gentle personality, and the guiding light for Save The Children India for 25 years. She left behind a legacy that her daughters are committed to.
In picture: Kajol too came in to lend support for the cause.
Kajol looked super gorgeous in a peach-color jumpsuit as she attended Mana Shetty's 75th charity exhibition for Save The Children India - Araaish.
In a candid chat with mid-day in 2013, talking about her work Mana Shetty was quoted saying, "Being called a celeb wife doesn't annoy me. But it would be nice if people recognize us as individuals too. We're all doing a lot of work in our own right. And we all do it because we are passionate about it. It's okay if people want to slot us into categories. I have no issues with that. However, I prefer to look at the brighter side. I'm doing so much and giving back to society in my own way by holding an exhibition for our NGO. But being married to Suniel has opened up so many doors for me. People treat me differently because I'm Mrs. Shetty. It's a passport to good things. I would be a hypocrite if I did not acknowledge that. It has only affected me positively and in fact, has helped me build my own identity."

Anu Ranjan with daughter Akansha Ranjan also attended Mana Shetty's 75th charity exhibition for Save The Children India - Araaish.
Sameera Reddy stepped up this time with her daughter Nyra to support Araaish and participated in the exhibition.
Suniel and Mana Shetty's son Ahan Shetty was clicked with his long-time girlfriend Tania Shroff for the event.
"We think it's a great philanthropic gesture on the part of everyone who comes forward to support Araaish. It's an emotional journey for us to work towards what our mother founded. The funds have gone a long way to securing the children's future," Mana Shetty was quoted saying in an old interview with mid-day.

The late Vipula Kadri founded Save The Children India in 1988, with an aim to serve children from the marginalised sections of society. It believes in making India a child-friendly nation through various innovative projects aimed at integrated child development.
