Bollywood stars celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi by taking part in various philanthropy events in the city. Prominent among them was Alia Bhatt and Shruti Haasan. All Pictures/Yogen Shah

Alia Bhatt inaugurated an exhibition named 'Art for the Heart' at a children's hospital in Mumbai. For the event, the actress donned a lemon yellow dress which she paired with white sneakers.

Speaking to the media at the event, Alia said, "I have been told that kids are more positive than adults because they don't know how bad the situation is and they don't have a negative frame of mind. I feel that's the reason they get cured faster". On the work front, has wrapped up the shoot of Brahmastra with beau Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy. She is also shooting for Mahesh Bhatt's Sadak 2.

Shruti Haasan also attended an event hosted by an NGO that works towards women's welfare in Worli. For the event, the Behen Hogi Teri actor opted for a retro polka dot long dress and black long boots.

On the personal front, Shruti has moved on after her break up with Michael Corsale, the London-based theatre actor. The singer-actress is keeping herself occupied with her work and musical endeavours. She has been performing with other musicians in London. Her Instagram is filled with posts with them.

Shruti Haasan has also lent her voice to Prabhudheva and Tamannaah Bhatia's thriller, Khamoshi, produced by PYX films.

Talking about singing for the title track, set to be used during the end credits, Haasan told mid-day, "I like to sing and compose, and it's something I've been doing since the age of six. When Chakri Toleti [director] approached me with the offer, I agreed because I have composed music for his first directorial, Eenadu [a remake of A Wednesday]."
