Shanaya also has a younger brother, Jahaan Kapoor. Besides Jahaan, Shanaya is cousin to Janhvi, Khushi, Arjun, Anshula, Sonam, Rhea and Harshvardhan Kapoor.

Shanaya hasn't yet forayed into acting, but she has worked as an assistant director on a few films, the latest one being Janhvi Kapoor's upcoming Gunjan Saxena: Kargil Girl. Proud father Sanjay had shared a photo of Shanaya on Instagram and captioned it, "My Hardworking daughter shooting in 41 degrees as an assistant director, warm welcome to the film industry [sic]."

Sanjay Kapoor had revealed, "It's true that Shanaya is now in Lucknow and working as an assistant on Janhvi's film. It was a joint decision. She was very keen on doing something different to understand the space, rather than just wasting time."

"Before she wanted to take up a film, she didn't want to be abroad for a three-year course. Instead, she chose something personal like this. Obviously, I'm always there to guide her. Nothing in life is better than experience," Sanjay Kapoor continued.

If you have been wondering why you can't find the pretty Shanaya Kapoor on Instagram, it's because she has a private account on the photo-sharing app. When Sanjay Kapoor was asked if Shanaya can handle the media attention, he said, "I do feel protective about her. She has a private account on Instagram. But few things are beyond our control. She's a young girl who will go out for movies or to restaurants. We're not going to lock her up in the house just because a photograph will get clicked."

This is apparently a photo of the family from their vacation in the US. Maheep Kapoor had shared a few snaps from their picture-perfect vacation on social media with the caption, "No filter needed! #InMyHappyPlace #LosAngeles #Family"

Shanaya Kapoor has quite a few close friends from the industry. A couple of them include Ananya Panday and Suhana Khan. The three girls have been friends from a very young age and have only grown closer as the years have passed.

Talking about social media trolls, Sanjay Kapoor had said, "We have told her (Shanaya) not to take the praises or criticism seriously. You just have to keep working hard and be focused. However, she has been quite fortunate as most of the times people talk very sweetly about her. So, I am really grateful for that."

And why wouldn't they? Shanaya sure looks like a sweet kid! We can't wait to see if and when she steps into Bollywood. Shanaya has also been taking belly dancing lessons with Suhana Khan from Sanjana Muthreja, an international belly dancer and trainer. Sanjana had shared a photo with Shanaya on her Instagram account and wrote: "With @shanayakapoor02. She has been learning with me for more than 3 years. for her level of dedication to dance (sic)"
