Today, it's Hum Ho Gaye Aapke actress Reema's birthday, who is a popular face in Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, and Bollywood films! Born on October 29, 1981, in Kolkata, actress Reema Sen (earlier spelt Reemma Sen) is best remembered for her role in films such as Malamaal Weekly and Gangs of Wasseypur. Reema completed her schooling from Kidderpore (West Bengal) and later moved to Mumbai with her family.

After doing a couple of modelling assignments and ads, Reema Sen started off her acting career by featuring in Bengali theatre films, roughly at the age of 16. She had also appeared in the popular 90s music video - Chandni Raatein.

Reema Sen has even acted in Bhojpuri films, before getting a break down south. She made a name for herself in Telugu and Tamil cinema with films such as Chitram, Minnale, Bava Nachadu, Manasantha Nuvve, Seema Simham, Dhool, to name a few.

Coming from a conservative and an orthodox family, Reema Sen's folks didn't want her to make a career in the industry initially. However, eventually, things became fine. Reema tasted immense popularity and success in the south film industry.

Reema Sen made her debut in Bollywood in 2001 with Hum Ho Gaye Aapke with Fardeen Khan, Apoorva Agnihotri and Suman Ranganathan. She was later seen in Jaal: The Trap, with Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff and Tabu.

Despite being a huge hit in the South film industry, Reema Sen couldn't taste success in Bollywood. She was part of the hit comedy Malamaal Weekly, as Riteish Deshmukh's love interest and Om Puri's daughter Sukhmani. But that's about it.

In 2011, Reema Sen came back to Bollywood and much to everyone's surprise, a lot of attention came her way when she played Durga in Anurag Kashyap's Gangs of Wasseypur.

"I never thought that people will be so ga ga over the character. People have found a cotton sari and a quarter second back shot so sexy - I am amazed. Had it not come after 'The Dirty Picture', people would have said I looked fat. Vidya Balan has made voluptuous look sexy and I really need to thank her," Reema told IANS.

After doing a handful of Hindi films, Reema Sen became particular about the roles which she did in Bollywood. "After 'Malamaal Weekly' also it took me some time to sign my next film. Since I have the luxury of doing southern films, I don't feel I am sitting at home doing nothing," she said in an interview in 2012.

However, Reema Sen was never seen in any films after 2012. She married Delhi-based businessman Shiv Karan Singh, earlier in March 2012 and ever since has quit acting.

Reema Sen is enjoying her married life. She gave birth to a son, Rudraveer Singh, in 2013, a year after her marriage.

Though Reema Sen is completely away from the limelight, she is quite active on Instagram and shares pictures with her friends and family to keep her fans posted.
