While Kriti Kharbanda may have started her career as a model before stepping into the film industry, very few know that she holds a diploma in jewellery designing.

I don't remember the first time I held you in my arms, but I do remember the first time u held me in yours, and then never let go :) I love you thank u for making my world a better place! Muah!

Kriti Kharbanda, in 2009, made her debut with Boni and subsequently went on to become one of the top actresses in the Kannada film industry, before featuring in Tamil movies. She was only 19 then.

In 2016, Kriti Kharbanda made her Bollywood debut. She was seen romancing actor Emraan Hashmi and another newbie Gaurav Arora in the fourth instalment of Raaz, titled Raaz: Reboot.

After making her Bollywood debut in Raaz Reboot, Kriti then worked with Kartik Aaryan in Guest Iin London (2017) and followed it up with Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana (2017) alongside Rajkummar Rao.

Kriti Kharbanda feels her craft has matured over the years and she no longer considers acting as just a "hobby." "Earlier, I wasn't as serious about acting as I am now, so the fear of failure wasn't there. Now, I am far more serious, I think I have matured and have realised this is my career, not a hobby anymore. I am dependent on it," Kriti told PTI.

Kriti Kharbanda is aware that since she is not from a film family, there will be struggles to bag the perfect role. She still has to audition or do look tests for a role because she feels filmmakers are still not sure if she will be able to do it.

"I know people think I am an outsider but it is a big achievement to do three films in a short time. It is difficult, for sure, but you need to prove yourself as an actor in Bollywood," said Kriti Kharbanda.

With a career spanning over a decade, Kriti Kharbanda says she has realised that one of the most important things for an actor is to handle failures.

"Even if you sulk after a failure, you have to put on that exterior that you are fine. You could be going through a series of nonsense in your personal life or failure in your professional life, but you have to put on that exterior. Fortunately for me, it has come to a point where I am not faking it," said Kriti Kharbanda.

As an actress, who has been working in the film industry for a decade, her Telugu debut Boni released in 2009, her confidence has often wavered after not getting the right project. She used to have panic and anxiety attacks.

Kriti Kharbanda dealt with a lot, roughly four years ago. "It was a difficult time. I was frustrated. I had issues in both personal and professional life. I regretted my decision of coming to Mumbai. I thought may be I am not meant for this industry. But it made me stronger. Giving up wasn't an option for me. If it was an option, may be, I would've given up. Thank God, I didn't," she said.

Kriti Kharbanda shared screen space with Rajkummar Rao in Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana. She was very happy about having worked with the National Award-winning actor. "I think I have learnt how to be a good co-actor because he is really the one. I heard people saying how in a Rajkummar Rao film, people only watch him in the frame and he could overshadow others. But I must say, he is such a good co-actor who always lets you act your best, because acting also has a lot depending on reacting," said Kriti.

On the personal front, Kriti Kharbanda has been linked romantically with her Veerey Ki Wedding and Pagalpanti co-star Pulkit Samrat numerous times. While neither of them had ever admitted to being in a relationship with each other, recently, Kriti took the plunge and confessed. "In all honesty, I wanted my parents to know first that I'm dating someone and when you start seeing someone, I think there's a time for everything when you're comfortable talking about it. Sometimes it can take five years; sometimes it can take five months. In our case, it was five months, but I'm in a very happy place and I have no qualms admitting that I am dating Pulkit Samrat," she said in an interview.
