Laxmmi Bomb is a remake of the Tamil horror-comedy Kanchana, Akshay Kumar attempts what is arguably his most challenging and complex character yet. Akshay plays the character of a person who is possessed by the soul of a transgender woman.

Akshay Kumar in an earlier interview with mid-day talking about his look in the film said, "I am comfortable in a saree and had no problem shooting in it. I love doing tricky stuff," enthuses Kumar, aware that his look in the Laxmmi Bomb became a talking point. "It is one of the most difficult characters I have played. I had to internalise the character and get the body language right."
Kiara Advani has two films in the horror-comedy genre coming up over the next months. She will be seen Laxmmi Bomb and also in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which co-stars Kartik Aaryan. Talking about the same, Kaira said, "I never thought I would work in this (horror-comedy) genre but after Laxmmi Bomb, there is Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. These are both very different films, so I am really excited."
Kiara Advani talking about Laxmmi Bomb said, "We are putting our best foot forward and we hope to make it a crackling entertainer because I am sure the expectations will be high. I am a huge fan of Akshay (Kumar) sir's Bhool Bhulaiyaa. That was the first horror-comedy film that I ever watched."

Kiara Advani also wrapped up the shoot of the female-centric movie Indoo Ki Jawani, which also stars Aditya Seal. The quirky comedy film marks the Bollywood debut of Bengali writer-filmmaker Abir Sengupta. Touted to be a modern-age love story, the flick is said to be based on dating apps. Reportedly, it will depict the story of Indoo Gupta, a feisty girl from Ghaziabad, whose left swipes and right swipes with dating app results in hilarious chaos.
