Sonam Kapoor opted for her lucky charm colour red ethnic wear for the special screening of The Zoya Factor.

The Zoya Factor is an adaptation of Anuja Chauhan's novel of the same name, revolves around Sonam Kapoor's Zoya and who becomes the lucky charm of the Indian cricket team, which is led by Nikhil Khoda (Dulquer Salmaan).

Initially happy to be the lucky mascot, Zoya Solanki finds herself in a tough spot when people start looking up to her for every win in the game.

"Luck and superstition come into play when you do not find any reason. I don't believe in luck. Somewhere luck is an excuse for failure or when we can't explain certain things," said director of The Zoya Factor Abhishek Sharma in a media interaction.

Abhishek Sharma further added: "At the end of the day, it is all about hard work. If you are extremely successful, hard work has to be the reason and not luck. There are coincidences and opportunities. Fortune favours the brave. Hard work takes you to places. It is wrong to put everything on luck and superstition."

Sharing how superstitious most of the people are, Abhishek Sharma further mentioned: "It will be too critical and unjustified to call India that, the world overall is superstitious. India has a lot of cultures because of which sometimes there is ritual superstition. But it is also the land of Gita which talks about work."

In picture: Sanjay Kapoor, who plays Sonam Kapoor's father in the movie, attended the special screening too.

Abhishek Sharma called Sonam Kapoor lucky charm. "In the film, we have presented two things - hard work, and luck and superstition. It is a clash of both of these worlds and towards the end, you will see which side comes out as victorious."

"She is one of those actors who can shoulder a female-oriented script. She was an obvious choice," said Abhishek Sharma.

Speaking of her experience working with Dulquer Salmaan, Sonam Kapoor said: "I have always worked well with people from the South. My first successful film which changed my life was Raanjhana and after that, every film I have done has elements like that. So, for The Zoya Factor, I think Dulquer Salman will be very lucky for me."

Vicky Kaushal, who will be next seen in Sardar Udham Singh and Bhoot - The Haunted Ship: Part One, opted for a black sweatshirt, which he paired with olive green joggers.

Tanishaa Mukerji sported a basic black top, paired with grey wide-legged pants for the special screening of Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan-starrer The Zoya Factor.

Mohit Marwah and wife Antara Motiwala attended the special screening of The Zoya Factor.

The lead actor of Abhishek Sharma's directorial venture Dulquer Salmaan attended the special screening of The Zoya Factor with wife Amal Sufiya.

Maheep Sandhu and Jahaan Kapoor also attended the show hosted at a popular multiplex in Juhu, Mumbai.

Sophie Choudry opted for a red coloured pantsuit, whereas Kunal Kemmu sported a yellow t-shirt and basic denim for the special screening of the movie.

Sayani Gupta sported a beige coloured romper to attend the special screening of The Zoya Factor.

Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh also attended The Zoya Factor's special show hosted in the city.
