Born on December 4, 1963, Jaaved Jaaferi is the son of late comedian Jagdeep (best remembered as Soorma Bhopali in Sholay). Jaaved is known as an actor, voice-over artist, dancer, host and comedian. He made his Bollywood debut in Meri Jung in 1985 in a negative role. His performance in the song 'Bol Baby Bol Rock and Roll' showcased his dancing skills, thus, garnering a huge fan following. Jaaved Jaaferi hosted several shows on Channel V in the 90s and even dubbed for characters like Mickey Mouse and Goofy in Hindi for Disney. The actor has acted in over 350 films in his three-decade-long career.

Jaaved Jaaferi won his first award in 2006. He bagged the IIFA Award for the best comic role category in Salaam Namaste, which starred Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta. His commentary for the famous Japanese TV show Takeshi's Castle garnered a huge fan following with kids and even adults.

Talking about how technology is ruling everyone's life, Jaaved Jaaferi told mid-day, in an old interview, 'I am a conservative person. These technology companies keep coming up with higher versions of the same product and the difference in their features is hardly anything. I have learnt that it is best to stick with what you need and like. And all I need are a music player, a DVD player and the Internet to browse. If all these features are present in the gadgets I already have, I will not spend more money to upgrade them.'
