These popular Bollywood and television celebrities tied the knot in hush-hush ceremonies, surprising everyone. On National Couples' Day, July 18th, we look at celebrities who got married and kept it low-key!

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli's wedding was one of the most talked-about events in Bollywood. They married in a private ceremony on December 11, 2017, in Tuscany, Italy. The couple kept the details of their wedding very private, sharing only a few photos and details with the public after the event

Rani Mukerji-Aditya Chopra: While rumours of a romance between the two had been making headlines for years, it took an official statement from Rani Mukerji to make the world wake up to the news of her wedding to director Aditya Chopra. They secretly tied the knot on April 21, 2014, in a private ceremony in Italy with immediate family, and only Karan Johar and Vaibhavi Merchant from the Bollywood fraternity, in attendance.

Manoj Bajpayee-Neha: Known to be extremely private, the two time National Award-winning actor Manoj Bajpayee married actress Neha (Shabana Raza) of Kareeb fame in a secret ceremony in April 2006. According to reports, even Manoj's parents were unable to attend the wedding due to short notice.

Urmila Matondkar-Mohsin Akhtar Mir: Urmila Matondkar tied the knot with Kashmir-based businessman and model Mohsin Akhtar Mir in a quiet wedding ceremony at her Mumbai residence in March 2016. Unlike the typical star-studded weddings of Bollywood, the couple kept it simple and private. A close friend of the actress, designer Manish Malhotra was the only Bollywood personality present at the wedding.

Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi: Neha Dhupia surprised her fans on May 10, 2018, by announcing her marriage with 'best friend' Angad Bedi. The actress took to her Instagram account to confirm the news. The couple got married on May 10 in Delhi. She shared a photo of hers with Angad from the wedding mandap and wrote, 'Best decision of my life.. today, I married my best friend. Hello there, husband! @angadbedi (sic).' Former Indian cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi's son Angad posted a picture from the wedding and wrote, 'Best friend.. now Wife!!! Well hello there Mrs BEDI!!! @nehadhupia [sic].'

Kunal Kapoor-Naina Bachchan: Rang De Basanti actor Kunal Kapoor tied the knot with his long-time ladylove Naina Bachchan in Seychelles on February 9, 2015. Naina Bachchan is Amitabh Bachchan's niece and daughter of Ajitabh Bachchan and Ramola Bachchan. The duo was reportedly introduced to each other by Naina's cousin Shweta Bachchan Nanda. After two years of dating, Naina and Kunal got engaged in 2014. The world wouldn't have been aware of their low-key nuptials hadn't it been for Kunal sharing a photo of his scenic wedding set-up on a beach.

Lisa Haydon-Dino Lalvani: Bollywood actress Lisa Haydon tied the knot with her beau Dino Lalvani in a hush-hush wedding ceremony in October 2016. They dated for a year before marrying. Dino is the son of Pakistan-born British entrepreneur Gullu Lalvani. Designer Malini Ramani broke the news on Instagram as she posted two pictures of the newly-weds. Lisa stunned in an all-white long gown while the groom looked dapper in a blue shirt teamed with a white blazer.

Riya Sen-Shivam Tiwari: Bollywood actress Riya Sen married her long-time boyfriend Shivam Tiwari in a hush-hush ceremony in Pune on August 17, 2017. The wedding was attended by family and close friends. Raima Sen shared a photo from the wedding and bride Riya Sen looked absolutely gorgeous!

Vir Das-Shivani Mathur: Actor-comedian Vir Das married Shivani Mathur, an event manager, on October 19, 2014, after a five-year courtship in a secret ceremony in Sri Lanka. The development came to light exactly a month later when the wedding snapshots surfaced on social media.

Sridevi-Boney Kapoor: Film producer Boney Kapoor fell for Sridevi on the sets of Mr India. Sridevi got close to him as he stood by her side during personal turmoil. The couple got married in a secret ceremony in a temple as Boney had not yet divorced his first wife Mona Kapoor. They kept their marriage a secret for six months till the divorce was finalised. When Sridevi announced her marriage, she was, reportedly, seven months pregnant. They have two daughters, Janhvi and Khushi. Sridevi passed away in 2018, at age of 54.

Keith Sequeira-Rochelle Rao: Bigg Boss 9 contestants Keith Sequeira and Rochelle Rao got secretly married in a private ceremony in Tamil Nadu's Mahabalipuram on March 4, 2018, in the presence of close friends. Rochelle shared the happy news on social media along with some pictures of her dreamy beach wedding with Keith.

Ishita Dutta-Vatsal Sheth: Actress Ishita Dutta, who is former actress Tanushree Dutta's younger sister, tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend and co-star Vatsal Sheth in a private low-key ceremony on November 28, 2017, in Mumbai. Ishita and Vatsal's wedding took the fans and industry by surprise. The two met and fell in love on the sets of the TV show 'Baazigar'. The two, who have known each other for over four years, married on October 23, 2016, in the presence of family and friends. Bhasin met him during the recording of the romantic single 'Tera Mera', composed by Uddin.

John Abraham-Priya Runchal: Following John's break-up with Bipasha Basu, he got into a relationship with NRI investment banker and financial consultant Priya Runchal. They married on the spur of the moment while holidaying in the US. While the exact date of their wedding is not known, we would have had no clue about the wedding had John not tweeted this: 'Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed 2014! May this year bring you love, good fortune and joy. Love, John and Priya Abraham'.

Aftab Shivdasani-Nin Dusanj: Actor Aftab Shivdasani married his girlfriend Nin Dusanj, a brand consultant, in a private ceremony with only the immediate family in attendance in September 2017. According to reports, the decision to undergo a secret wedding was taken as a string of broken relationships and alleged betrayals had left Aftab hurt in love and superstitious about his marriage plans.

Madhuri Dixit-Sriram Nene: Bollywood's dhak-dhak girl broke many hearts when news of her wedding surfaced. She tied the knot with Dr Sriram Nene, a cardiovascular surgeon, in a private ceremony in Los Angeles, California, on October 17, 1999.

Juhi Chawla-Jay Mehta: Former Miss India and talented Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla married businessman Jay Mehta at the peak of her career. Reportedly, she kept her marriage a secret over concerns that her marital status would affect film offers and made the relationship public when she was expecting her first child.

Amitabh Bachchan-Jaya Bhaduri: According to reports, the duo wanted to go to London together, but Amitabh's father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, wanted them to get married first. They decided to tie the knot on June 3, 1973, and left for London the same day. Their marriage was held in such secrecy that despite high profile guests like the Gandhis, it was a low-key affair.

Dharmendra-Hema Malini: Bollywood's dream girl and Dharmendra are said to have fallen in love on the sets of Sholay. Since Dharmendra's first wife was not ready to give him a divorce, both the stars, reportedly, decided to convert to Islam in order to get married. They eloped to Khandala, a hill station in Maharashtra, and got married in a secret nikah ceremony.
