Actress Zareen Khan speaks to mid-day.com, about starting out as a call centre employee, while wanting to be an air-hostess and pilot and finally landing the lead role opposite Salman Khan in 'Veer.' The actress says being an outsider, she did not know how the industry functions and got labeled as arrogant.
Zareen says, "In the beginning it was really difficult because I couldn't understand anything. I was a complete lost child since I come from a non-film background. I used to attend events where there used to be famous personalities from the industry and I did not know them. Then I got labelled as arrogant because I did not greet them. I was so intimidated at that time not knowing whether I'm supposed to talk or not! A lot of things happened at that time but slowly I learnt. This journey has been a learning experience with a lot of ups and downs, it's been a fun rollercoaster ride."
She adds, "I never wanted to be an actress and out of nowhere I was in one of the biggest films being made that time, with one of the biggest superstars of the country. It was a very intimidating time and experience. Now when I look back it seems a little funny but at that time it was very scary and intimidating."
