Yami Gautam preps for cop act

Following her act in the hostage drama, A Thursday, Yami Gautam Dhar will be seen as a Haryanvi cop in Dasvi. In order to prep for the part, Dhar interacted with real-life IPS officers to understand their method of working. "I also watched a couple of documentaries to understand how they carry themselves, inside and outside the jail, and learn about their family life. It also helped me analyse the kind of sense of humour that they have, and the way they dress when they [are not] in uniform."

Dhar admits that she feels a renewed sense of vigour to play a part as impactful as this one. "When a woman takes up a post of this stature, and is honest and independent, and razor-sharp, yet empathetic, it is interesting. We built the characters around these principles." Apart from the Abhishek Bachchan and Nimrat Kaur-starrer, her line-up of films includes OMG 2.
