War 2: Ayan Mukerji wraps first schedule with body doubles of Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR in Spain

The much-awaited action film 'War 2' is currently on floors. The film is being directed by Ayan Mukerji of 'Brahmastra' and 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani' fame. The highlight of the film is definitely the lead cast of the film- Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR- who will be facing each other on screen for the first time. From the past two weeks, Mukerji has been shooting for the film in Spain and has now wrapped the first schedule. According to reports, Mukerji wrapped the biggest chase sequence in the film without the presence of the two lead actors.

Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR are currently in India shooting for their respective projects- 'Fighter' and 'Devara', in Mumbai and Hyderabad. Quoting a source, Bollywood Hungama reported, "It's a new technique of shooting for feature films. The action blocks of a lot of films in today's time are shot without the involvement of lead actors. Soon after, the faces of the body double are replaced using the body swap technology. The same was used for Pathaan as well for the action blocks shot in Dubai and Russia. Hrithik and NTR Jr. will start shooting for War only in December."

The Spain scheduled took place for around 12 days. For the body double, Ayan was particular to get the right fit. "He auditioned over 50 talents each for both Hrithik and NTR Jr. before getting an ideal body type on board. The stunt double had multiple test shoots with Hrithik and NTR Jr. in Mumbai and Hyderabad before flying off to Spain," the source said.

Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor in a recent Zoom interaction revealed that Ayan Mukerji plans on wrapping the shoot of 'War 2' by mid 2024 and then start with 'Brahmastra 2' with him and Alia Bhatt. "So Brahmastra 2 is heavy into writing. We are working on it all the time, it was just last week that Ayan narrated the film to me. Ayan has gone ten times bigger than part 1, his idea, his thought, the characters. He is working on War 2 right now, so the plan is to finish War 2 by mid-next year and we start shooting hopefully by end of next year, or beginning of next to next year. But definitely there's a lot of work which is already happening on the film in the writing process," he said.

Ayan Mukerji plans on wrapping another action sequence before he moves to the conversational parts of the film between the lead actors. The film also stars Kiara Advani. However, an official announcement on Kiara's involvement is yet to be made. The film will be released on Republic Day weekend of 2025.
