While shoots have been suspended in Maharashtra till April 30 to combat the alarming surge in COVID-19 cases across the state, some filmmakers are soldiering on in other parts of the country. Before the final schedule of Vidyut Jammwal-starrer Sanak kicks off in Goa next week, producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah has introduced additional precautionary measures on the set, to ensure the unit's safety.

The producer reveals that he has divided the team on the basis of colour bands to avoid crowding on set. "Members with green bands can access the shooting area while those with red bands cannot. Some extra unit bases have been created. This way, people can be split into small units, thus ensuring smooth functioning," he says.

During the extensive Mumbai schedule that lasted from January to March, Shah had hired a dedicated team of eight COVID officials, who ensured sanitisation of set every two hours and the unit's compliance with safety protocols. He adds, "We took necessary precautions [in the previous schedule]; now, we will be more careful." Kanishk Verma, who is helming the actioner that sees Neha Dhupia in a special appearance, says, "We don't have more than 10 to 15 people on the floor. Everyone else is [in their separate work bases], and called in when needed."
