It is a well-known fact that filmmaker Vikram Bhatt had relationships with both Sushmita Sen and Ameesha Patel during the 2000s. Now, after years have passed, Bhatt has broken his silence about his affair with Sushmita Sen and his troubled relationship with his ex-wife. The director, who helmed the 2006 film 'Ankahee,' revealed that the script of the movie was a semi-fictional version of his relationship with Sushmita Sen.
In conversation with Siddharth Kannan, the director talked about his film and said, "I'd say semi- fictionalised⦠I think my situation with Sushmita and my wife". "It was not incident based, ki aapki zindagi mein aisa hua tha kya (if something like this happened in your life), no, it didn't happen like that. Sometimes you take the emotion and fictionalise it. So it was a real emotion in a fictionalised story," he further added.
Later in the interview, when he was asked if his wife was upset with him for making the film, Vikram said, "If I have blamed anyone, then it was me. I neither blamed Sushmita's character nor my ex-wife. So, why would anyone be upset? I have the right to beat myself up."
He also confessed about not asking Sushmita if she was upset with 'Ankahee' or not. The ace director shared, "I never asked her. See, I have a right over my life but not on anybody else's life. So even when I write on (Twitter) threads, I write what's my truth, what has happened with me."

Vikram also mentioned that whatever happened in his life was his decision, and nothing occurred without his permission. While talking about whether his relationships with Ameesha or Sushmita have taken a toll on him, he said that the pain has taught him a lot. He also mentioned that his spiritual journey wouldn't have been the same if he hadn't gone through those events.
In the early 2000s, the director was romantically involved with Sushmita Sen and Ameesha Patel. Nevertheless, it was reportedly his connection with Sushmita that led to the dissolution of his marriage with childhood sweetheart Aditi.
For the uninitiated, Vikram is best known for directing the Raaz film series, an Indian horror series produced by Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt and for directing Ghulam starring Aamir Khan and Rani Mukherji.
