India is battling a deadly second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the number of positive cases is rising every day. As per data revealed by the Union Health Ministry on May 10, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh are among the top 10 states that accounted for 73.91 per cent of new Covid-19 cases registered in the last 24 hours. The data further shows that ten states account for 72.86 per cent of the new deaths, and Maharashtra saw the maximum casualties (572). Karnataka follows with 490 daily deaths.
Given the surge in Covid-19 cases in the country, Bollywood actors, through their social media handles, have been urging all to take the Covid-19 vaccination. They have been sharing their photos too as they received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Kajal along with her husband Gautam Kitchlu took their first jab on May 7. At the vaccination center in Mumbai, Kajal also bumped into veteran actor Anupam Kher, who had come for his second dose. The actor had taken his first dose in March.
Radhika Madan got her first jab of the Covid-19 vaccine on May 5. She shared the news on Instagram with a picture and caption along with it, which read, "I urge everyone to get themselves registered and get their shot and please take full precautions at the vaccination centers. Wear double mask, sanitize your hands, maintain distance and don't panic. Don't forget to get a good night's sleep the day before and stay well hydrated."
Sharing a photo of him getting the jab, Riteish wrote in the caption, "Get Vaccinated!!! Let's fight this monster together.... #vaccinationdone #vaccination."
The actress shared a photo of her getting vaccinated on her Instagram handle along with the same caption that her husband-actor wrote, "Get Vaccinated!!! Let's fight this monster together.... #vaccinationdone #vaccination."
Divya shared a video, while she got her first vaccine shot. She wrote in the caption of her post, "Vaccination done â Took my first jab today, I urge all of you to enroll yourselves, and get #vaccinated! We're all in this together, let's defeat the virus by getting vaccinated and following the guidelines"
The 'Four More Shots Please!' actress penned a long note on social media after getting her first jab. Here's what she wrote, "1st shot done, one more shot please!!ð Pls register yourselves & get vaccinated at the earliest ð Thank you @my_bmc @mumbaipolice for the ease & smoothness of the entire process. Thank you to all the volunteers/staff at the #bkcjumbocovidcentre for calmly & patiently dealing with everyone. On May 6, Rasika received her first jab of Covid-19 vaccine. She wrote a note, alongside her picture, which read, "And finally I am 18! ð ðÂÂÂð Vaccinatedâ . First jab done. Please register yourself if you haven't yet. Even though getting an appointment took multiple tries (from @mukulchadda who aced the fastest finger first act with help from covialerts.in). Once there, it was all smooth and streamlined. Thank you to the very brave frontline workersðÂÂÂ, to @mybmc and to the people at #NairHospital for making the process seamless. Arbaaz shared a video of him taking the shot. "I got vaccinated now it's your turn," the 53-year-old actor-producer captioned the clip.
Ankita shared the video of herself taking the jab and wrote in the caption, "I got mine, get yours as soon as possible. #gotvaccinated #fightagainstcorona"
She shared this picture and wrote, "#Vaccine manjhe #Victory!!!", encouraging fans and followers to get vaccinated.
Farhan revealed that he received the vaccine shot at a drive-in vaccination centre at Andheri Sports Complex, Mumbai.
Pulkit Samrat received his first dose of Covid-19 vaccine on May 5. The actor posted the above picture that shows him getting the vaccine jab. "#Jab We Met... This is our best form of defence. Be safe #Getvaccinated," Pulkit wrote, along with a vaccine emoji.
