Sushmita Sen spoke about her first boyfriend Rajat Tara during Sit With Hitlist

Gossip follows celebs everywhere they go. On the latest episode of Mid-day's Sit With Hitlist, Sushmita Sen confirmed and denied a bunch of rumours/reports about herself. For example, whether her first meeting with Amitabh Bachchan was in a men's loo. "If this would have happened, I'd have remembered," she said.

There were also rumours after she won the Miss Universe crown, she dumped her first boyfriend, Rajat Tara. When she was asked about that, what followed was a revelation about a beautiful relationship the two of them have shared.

"Rajat Tara - he is actually he is one of the nicest people. I am so glad he was my first boyfriend because of the generosity of this man, to this day. He is a father of a very beautiful little girl, I was his best man at his wedding. He is married to a Serbian Lady and she is divine because she wanted me there. Everything about this wedding was special. I went to Belgrade for the wedding," Sushmita revealed.

"A man like that you can't dump. You just outgrow sometimes. And I had outgrown him, and he realized that. He said to me, I have not brought you so far for you to get stuck with me. Go live your life. We remain friends and there are no regrets there. To this day he is the person I will call no matter where he is in the world and he will pick up and say, ‘Kaun tang kar raha hai, aau kya?' I have been very blessed."

Sushmita also revealed that Rajat was the one who took the card from Times of India's Ranjan Bakshi who scouted her for Miss India at a nightclub. "He said, ‘Tu Miss India ke liye jaaegi.' I was barely 17.5-18 and Rajat must have been 23. So, he has been my rock-solid supporter and I love this man," she narrated.

It was at a nightclub in Delhi that Bakshi had spotted Sushmita and suggested she audition for Miss India. Sushmita didn't believe him at first. "I was a lanky teenager, I never thought of myself as beautiful." It was only when he presented his card, that she and her friends took him seriously.
