Aisha director Rajshree Ojha's latest web offering, Potluck is being celebrated as that blithe family drama that makes for an ideal watch, punctuating a spree of serious OTT indulgences. At the helm as music composers is duo Sukhamrit-Sachin, who hit the bull's eye with their first composition for the show, It's all good.

"Our aim is to always understand the director's vision first, because as composers, we can, of course, tackle a variety of styles. We had access to the first episode, and had understood the crux of the show, and that reflected in the fact that the makers liked the first song that we created. It was subsequently used across the episodes by employing either the guitar, or the piano," says Sukhamrit.

With several characters helming crucial plotlines, he admits that crafting defined tunes for certain actors, or situations, facilitated a recall value. "We used specified notes for the scenes where Ira [Dubey's character] was sad, or for the romantic scenes of the show, or even for the time when the family gathers for the potluck. When we noticed that some aspects needed vocals to be laid over the score, we used them, and they worked well."

Sachin adds that employing the accordion enabled them to create the joyous notes that they were seeking. "When the accordion wasn't apt, acoustic guitars and drums, and orchestral elements, served the purpose. The tunes are such that they can be cheerful and emotional at once."
