Sooryavanshi, Annaatthe, Marvel's Eternals to clash at the box office this Diwali!

The news of theatres reopening in Maharashtra has brought with it a huge cheer for the film enthusiasts and film industry alike. With Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray allowing the cinemas in the state to reopen from October 22, this Diwali will bring a huge dhamaka at the box office with three biggies clashing with each other. Audience is expected to flock to the theatres in huge numbers, given how the pandemic has deprived them of the big screen experience for so long. It will certainly get the cash registers ringing at the box office. The festive occasion of Diwali is eyed by filmmakers every year for their big banner releases, so it will be a time for the big clashes once again.

This Diwali, we will see a clash of Bollywood film Sooryavanshi, South film Annaatthe and Marvel's Eternals.

Sooryavanshi

As soon as Uddhav Thackeray announced the reopening of cinemas in Maharashtra, Rohit Shetty took to social media to lock Diwali release for his film Sooryavanshi. The film is a story of DCP Veer Sooryavanshi played by Akshay Kumar, who is the chief of the Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad. He and his team join forces with Inspector Sangram Bhalerao played by Ajay Devgn and DCP Bajirao Singham played by Ranveer Singh to stop a terrorist group planning to attack Mumbai. Katrina Kaif plays the female lead in the film.

Annaatthe

A Tamil action drama written and directed by Siva starring Rajinikanth, what else would one want for Diwali! The film boasts of an ensemble cast including Meena, Khushbu, Nayanthara, and Keerthy Suresh as the female leads, and Jackie Shroff, Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Vela Ramamoorthy, and Soori in prominent roles.

Eternals

Marvel's Eternals is an edge-of-the-seat thriller that revolves around the story of an immortal alien race created by the Celestials who have secretly lived on Earth for over 7,000 years. They will reunite with the humans to protect humanity from their evil counterparts, the Deviants. The film boasts of a star cast including Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Lia McHugh, Don Lee, Barry Keoghan and Kit Harington. What makes the film more fascinating is that Oscar-winning director Chloe Zhao has donned the director's hat for this movie and movie buffs are curious to see what Marvel Studios collaboration with Chloe and the mega cast brings out on the big screen.
