In front of the camera or on the red carpet, Sonam Kapoor is equally at home in both places. While we haven't seen her on screen since Blind earlier this year, she has given us plenty to rave about with her red-carpet appearances. Of late, the actor has made one stylish appearance after another - from the black couture piece at the opening night of the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, to her ethnic outfit at the party she hosted for football legend David Beckham. Bollywood's original fashionista credits her jewellery designer-mother Sunita Kapoor for encouraging her passion for style. Sonam says, "My mom was a model, then became a successful fashion designer, and now, she is a jewellery designer. I grew up around Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla, Tarun Tahiliani, Anamika Khanna, Anuradha Vakil, and all these amazing fashion designers. They taught me a lot about textiles, international fashion, embroidery and cuts, as did my mother, who was collecting Jamawar and old zari sarees."

Sporting creations by Tahiliani or Tamara Ralph, Anavila or Burberry, Sonam's style book has looks that are eclectic yet individualistic. Not limiting herself to the known designers alone, she adds, "My mother also exposed me to a lot of international designers, not only French and Italian designers, but also to Japanese and other Asian designers. That gave me worldwide exposure."
