Apart from a successful career as an Indian classical vocalist, Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan has also trained some of the finest musicians in the country, including AR Rahman, Sonu Nigam, Hariharan and Shaan.
The Padma Bhushan recipient has also been guru to the likes of Asha Bhosle, Manna Dey and Geeta Dutt among others. Every year on his birthday, his students visit him to seek his blessings.

As the legend turned 86 yesterday, Hariharan surprised Ustad Khan by gifting him a high-end sedan. Speaking to mid-day, the veteran said, "I am touched, not because of the car but his gesture. When students express their love, the feeling cannot be put into words. I have bought many cars in the past, but this one's special because it has been gifted by a student."
