Many of the audience has been wondering why Deepika Padukone is absent from the promotions of her upcoming anticipated movie 'Fighter'. The actor's absence from the film's trailer launch sent a lot of tongues wagging about an apparent rift between the actress and the director, Siddharth Anand. The rumours were further fueled when netizens realised that the two were no longer following each other on Instagram. Now, Siddharth Anand addressed the conundrum in a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama.
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Siddharth Anand revealed, "This is a promotional strategy that we have taken. You will start seeing Deepika Padukone from Tuesday everywhere. People put a lot of conjectures into things. Deepika was supposed to come for the trailer launch, but she was under the weather. And now she is going to be everywhere; our strategy is such."
Insisting that it was just for the promotions, the director said, "Obviously, we can't do without Deepika⦠Deepika and Hrithik's pair is one of the major highlights. And it's a huge excitement for me as a filmmaker to see both of them (together). So, I can imagine that even the audience is waiting for (her). You will start seeing them closer to the release. Also, we didn't want too much of Hrithik and Deepika before the release. We wanted people to enjoy them on the big screen. We didn't want that saturation."
The past year has truly been the biggest year for Deepika Padukone in her already illustrious career. With two big-ticket releases, Pathaan at the beginning of the year and Jawan towards the end, that garnered about 2200 crores at the global box office, Deepika Padukone transcended to a different place altogether with the successes.
